Abstract: An engine unit includes a crank shaft that receives a driving force of an engine and a moving pulley that is movable in an axial direction. Keyholes are formed on an outer peripheral surface of the crank shaft. Axially extending guide holes are formed on a boss portion of the moving pulley in positions that correspond to the keyholes. Ends of keys are mounted to the keyholes. The guide holes receive therein bases of the keys to guide relative movements of the moving pulley and the crank shaft in an axial direction.
Abstract: A method of managing slip in a transmission that is driven by a prime mover includes determining whether a slip condition of the transmission is present based on a slip value and reducing a torque output of the prime mover based on a torque reduction value when the slip condition is present. The method further includes storing the torque reduction value in an array if the slip condition is resolved as a result of the step of reducing and identifying a faulty component within the transmission based on the array.
Abstract: During Low return control, in which a speed ratio determined by a contact radius of a V-belt (4) with a non-rotating primary pulley (2) and a non-rotating secondary pulley (3) is shifted toward lowest speed ratio while the vehicle is stationary, an estimated speed ratio (ic) is calculated on the basis of a secondary pulley pressure (Psec). When a start request is issued to the vehicle while Low return control is underway, a primary pulley pressure (Ppri) and the secondary pulley pressure (Psec) are controlled on the basis of the estimated speed ratio (ic).
Abstract: This invention is a speed ratio change control device for a belt type continuously variable transmission that a minimum generated pressure of the primary pressure is estimated on the basis of a displacement speed of the movable sheave of the primary pulley and an opening area of a drain side passage of the speed ratio change control valve (S4), an upper limit value of a shift speed is calculated on the basis of the minimum generated pressure (S6), and the target speed ratio is set on the basis of the upper limit value of the shift speed (S10).
Abstract: A weight roller for an automatic transmission or a centrifugal clutch, comprising a core covered by an outer resin. The resin is formed into a cylinder having inwardly protruding collars at the ends thereof, and the core is mountable within the resin collar, the core having at least one chamfered edge which enables the core to be inserted into the resin. The resin comprises nylon and a reinforcing material comprising an aramid fiber (aromatic polyamide fiber) and a self-lubricant comprising polytetrafluoroethylene resin (PTFE) with an addition, if necessary, of polyolefine resin.

Abstract: A pulley device has a shaft provided at its one end with a disk extending radially outwardly therefrom, a tubular member provided at its one end with a disk extending radially outwardly therefrom and concentrically enclosing the shaft to cooperate with the disk of the shaft to define therebetween a V-shaped annular groove for a driving belt, and a roll pin extending in the shaft in the diametrical direction of the shaft so as to engage with both of the shaft and the tubular member. In order to facilitate the relative sliding movement between the shaft and the tubular member, oilless bearings are provided to both ends of the tubular member. Furthermore, an oilless bushing is disposed between the roll pin and the tubular member or the shaft to facilitate the rolling of the roll pin.
