Selection By Tightening Belt On Selected Pulley Patents (Class 474/75)
  • Patent number: 7998006
Abstract: In a speed ratio control device for a belt continuously variable transmission according to this invention, when a speed ratio is subjected to feedback control on the basis of a difference between an actual speed ratio and a target speed ratio, pressure supplied to a primary pulley is corrected through feedforward (S17, S18) in order to suppress variation in the groove width of the primary pulley caused by a rapid variation in an input torque into the primary pulley (S17) while traveling in a fixed speed ratio mode (S14) in which the target speed ratio is held at a fixed value.

  • Patent number: 6971966
Abstract: A belt damper for a gear train is provided. An endless belt is wrapped around pulleys mounted to an idler gear and an output gear. The pulleys are mounted to splined shafts which are axially aligned with and connected to splined gear shafts on which the idler and output gears are mounted. Pressurized lubricant is supplied to both splined connections. The combination of the lubricant in the spline connections and the damping effect of the belt provides for an effective damping system. A tension device may also be applied to vary tension imposed on the belt.

  • Publication number: 20040102267
Abstract: A continuously variable transmission comprises a driving pulley (11), a driven pulley (21), an endless dry-type belt (15) wound around both pulleys, a tension-adjusting device (50) arranged between the driving and driven pulleys for pressing the slack side of the belt to generate belt tension, stroke mechanisms (14, 22) provided on the driving and driven pulleys respectively for axially shifting the movable sheaves depending on inputted rotational force, a ratio-changing motor (40), and a gear mechanism for transmitting the rotational force generated by the motor to both stroke mechanisms as well as for mechanically connecting both stroke mechanisms in such a way that the movable sheaves of both pulleys can be shifted synchronously and axially oppositely in relation to the fixed sheaves. With this arrangement, the belt is prevented from slipping, the transmission ratio can be controlled precisely and stably, and the shift-response of this transmission can be improved.

Abstract: The present invention is a control apparatus for an implement transmission. The transmission is operably coupled to a plurality of driven mechanisms for providing a driving power from a prime mover to the plurality of driven mechanisms. A shift assembly has a first and a second actuator apparatus. The first actuator apparatus is operably coupled to the transmission for selectively controlling the transmission of a driving power to at least a first driven mechanism, and the second actuator apparatus is operably coupled to the transmission for selectively controlling the transmission of a driving power to at least a second driven mechanism. The second actuator apparatus has a biasing apparatus for exerting a variable, selective bias on the transmission. A clutch for selectively engaging and disengaging a prime mover and the transmission has a rotatable stop member and an idler-stop assembly.

  • Patent number: 5393270
Abstract: A motor 12 has an output shaft 18. A transmission device 14 transmits rotary power, selectively, in any one of two drive modes from the shaft 18 to an output shaft 16 connected to a rotary load. The drive modes differ in respect of direction of rotation and/or speed ratio. Output pulleys 20/22 are respectively connected to intermediate pulleys 44/54 on the device 14. Auxiliary intermediate wheels 48/58, which are respectively co-axial with and connected to the pulleys 44/54, are drivingly connected respectively in accordance with the two drive modes by means of a drive element 51 to an output wheel 42 on the shaft 16. The device 14 is pivoted about the shaft 16 as shown at 36. Pivoting in one direction tightens a V-belt 50 transmitting drive to the pulley 44 and thence via the wheel 48 in a first drive mode to the shaft 16; while slackening a V-belt 60 to disconnect drive to the pulley 54. Pivoting in an opposite direction causes drive via the pulley 54 and wheel 58 to the shaft 16 in the other drive mode.

  • Patent number: 4564358
Abstract: A belt tensioning adjustment assembly for a powered unit including a operating lever and a rotably supported wheel over which a cable passes and friction locking means is provided for fixing the rotated position of the wheel thereby to effect selective non-incremental adjustment of the cable length. The non-incremental adjustment of the cable length allows a drive belt tensioning lever to effect deflection of a belt drive and to effect driving engagement of a motor shaft to a work attachment unit.
