    Abstract: A dual clutch transmission (500) having a plurality of forward gears and at least one reverse gear (582) where the first gear is operatively engaged by a one-way clutch (594). A pair of actuator control valves (270, 272) is employed to move actuators to engage selective ones of the forward gear sets. A multiplex valve (284) is disposed in fluid communication between the pair of actuator control valves (270, 272) and the actuators associated with the forward gears of the transmission and is adapted to selectively provide fluid communication to the actuators to thereby select the forward gear ratios. A manual valve (185) is operatively connected to the gear shift selector (187) to control the actuator associated with reverse gear (582).

The transmission can be activated through the use of a pressure medium by way of a dedicated actuator whereby, on the basis of a shared pump arrangement that is or can be driven by the drive unit, (i) the pressure medium can be provided for activation of the coupling arrangement, (ii) the operating medium can be conducted to the coupling device for the purpose of operating under the influence of the operating medium, and (iii) the pressure medium can be provided for activation of the transmission. The pump arrangement includes at least one pump, which can be controlled or adjusted with regard to output pressure and/or with regard to output flow rate.

    Abstract: A manual valve for use within the hydraulic control system of Chrysler automatic transmissions. The present manual valve includes flow control structures to vary its standard functions. In a preferred embodiment the manual valve includes a secondary control land, which blocks and redirects hydraulic fluid to an alternate exhaust channel within the present valve when Park gear range is selected. A control orifice meters flow within the alternate exhaust channel and generates a predetermined backpressure to the pressure regulator valve, which provides an increased flow of hydraulic fluid to the torque converter in the Park gear range. This effectively eliminates delayed engagement of the transmission upon shifting into the Drive and Reverse gear ranges. In addition, the present manual valve includes a reverse metering land, which regulates the effect of fluid shock on the reverse servo piston when the Reverse gear range is selected.

    Abstract: An apparatus for making dual component fibers is provided and includes a spinner having peripheral and bottom walls. The spinner includes orifices located on the peripheral wall thereof for centrifuging the dual component fibers, with the spinner being divided into a series of generally vertically-aligned compartments by baffles positioned circumferentially around the interior of the peripheral wall. A first divider is provided in the spinner for directing the first molten thermoplastic material into alternate ones of the compartments, and a second divider is provided for directing the second molten thermoplastic material into the remaining ones of the compartments so that adjacent compartments contain different thermoplastic materials. Passages are located in each of the compartments through which the respective molten thermoplastic materials flow to the orifices on the peripheral wall of the spinner.
