Belt Type Patents (Class 475/25)
  • Patent number: 8956255
Abstract: The present invention utilizes the rotary kinetic power of a rotary kinetic power source to directly drive the epicyclic gear set, or to drive the epicyclic gear set through a transmission device, then a continuous variable transmission (CVT) is individually installed between two output shafts of the epicyclic gear set and the load driven thereby, so the wheel set of the driven load is enabled to randomly perform variation of the driving speed ratio and the driving torque, so as to drive the combined common load; between the output ends of the mentioned two continuous variable transmissions, a limited slip differential or a stabilize device composed of a dual shaft connecting device having slip coupling torque can be further installed according to actual needs.

  • Patent number: 7144346
Abstract: A motor vehicle steering mechanism is provided and includes a steering wheel fixedly connected to a steering column, a steering pinion meshing with a rack, a planetary gear system connected to the steering column and the steering pinion, wherein during a normal trouble-free driving operation the housing of the gear system is freely rotatable; an angle sensor detects the position of the steering column and/or steering wheel and generates a signal representative thereof, wherein a first drive applies torque directly to the steering column, and a second drive acts on the steering pinion or rack. The signal from the angle sensor is an input signal for an electronic control system that controls the second drive. A torque adjuster controls the first drive such that a hand torque corresponding to a driving situation is Produced for achieving a defined driving sensation for the driver on the steering wheel.

  • Patent number: 5021037
Abstract: A stepless transmission and steering system is provided for a vehicle having at least two propelling elements such as wheels, tracks, propellers and the like driven by two output shafts. A housing contains a pair of planetary transmission gear sets, both driven by a common input shaft. Each gear set powers one of the output shafts. A separate variator is connected to each gear set. Each variator controls the speed and direction of rotation of its associated output shaft in a continuous, stepless fashion with a single control member. A neutral-seeking servo mechanism is provided. By turning both output shafts at the same speed and direction, the vehicle runs in a straight line. When one shaft is turned faster, the vehicle runs in a curved line. When each shaft is turned in opposite directions, the vehicle turns within its own length. The variators may include variable diameter pulleys coupled with endless belts.

  • Patent number: 4977970
Abstract: A differential drive and steering system for a vehicle includes a differential drive device including an input shaft which is drivingly connected to a pair of output shafts by a differential gear device. A torque converter is drivingly connected with the differential gear mechanism and includes a speed control shaft journaled on the differential gear mechanism housing. A pair of variable pitch pulleys are respectively mounted on the speed control and input shafts and are connected by an endless belt. A transmission shaft is drivingly connected to one of the output shafts and is connected to the speed control shaft by a planetary gear mechanism. A drive sprocket is keyed to the input shaft and a driven sprocket is secured to the planetary gear mechanism. An endless chain is trained about the sprockets whereby the vehicle may be steered by selectively varying the pitch on the pulleys.
