  • Patent number: 11365799
Abstract: A drive device has a superimposed transmission, an input shaft connected a main drive machine, one or more auxiliary drives, a hydrodynamic retarder for braking the auxiliary drive, and an output shaft to be connected to a working machine. The superimposed transmission has a planetary transmission, with the input shaft connected to a ring gear and the output shaft connected to a sun gear. The retarder is incorporated into a lubricating oil system of the drive device in parallel. A feed line branches from the lubricating oil system and leads to the retarder. A return line leads from the retarder and opens into the lubricating oil system. A valve enables the feed line to be released in the event of a rapid disconnection or energy supply failure of one of the drives, and thus the retarder can be filled with oil.

  • Patent number: 11091177
Abstract: A rail vehicle having a vehicle frame supported on on-track undercarriages and a hydraulic drive system powered by a motor. The drive system comprises a hydrodynamic drive associated with a first on-track undercarriage as well as a hydrostatic drive associated with a second on-track undercarriage. With the latter is associated a drive pump connected to a drive motor. The motor is designed for a higher power output than is necessary for the operation of the hydrodynamic drive. A pump distribution gear is switched between the motor and the hydrodynamic drive, via which the drive pump of the hydrostatic drive can be connected. This takes place in dependence on a friction value ? between the rail and wheel.

  • Patent number: 10837312
Abstract: A braking system for the low pressure spool of a gas turbine engine includes a braking assembly connected to the low pressure spool and reversibly configurable between an actuated state and an unactuated state. The braking assembly in the unactuated state allows rotation of the low pressure spool without interference. The braking assembly in the actuated state applies a force opposing the rotation of the low pressure spool. A method of controlling the speed of rotation of a low pressure spool and a method of controlling the speed of rotation of low and high pressure spools are also discussed.

  • Patent number: 10767738
Abstract: A drive device includes a speed modulation gearbox having a planetary gear mechanism and a casing, a main drive machine which is connected to an input shaft of the speed modulation gearbox, two auxiliary drives, each connected to the planetary gear mechanism via a drive connection. An output shaft of the speed modulation gearbox can be connected to a working machine. The planetary gear mechanism includes a ring gear, a sun gear, a planet carrier and several planet gears. For each auxiliary drive, an additional drive connection with a constant transmission ratio exists between the auxiliary drives and the input shaft or between the auxiliary drives and a driven shaft of the planetary gear mechanism. The additional drive connections can each be engaged or disengaged by a respective switching clutch, wherein the drive connections from the auxiliary drives to the speed modulation gearbox remain engaged in any case.

  • Publication number: 20150141188
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of thrust absorbing planetary traction drives that utilize roller-shaft traction interfaces that are slanted to absorb thrust created on a turbo shaft by a turbine or compressor. Slanted traction surfaces on the sun portion of the turbo shaft are slanted inwardly so that the turbo shaft remains centered in the planetary traction drive. Either double roller planets or single roller planets can be used to absorb thrust in the axial direction of the turbo shaft. Various curved and slanted surfaces can be utilized to create traction interfaces that hold and stabilize the turbo shaft both axially and radially.

  • Publication number: 20150057119
Abstract: A cost configurable drive system for machines having dual/tandem axle drive systems employs a split hystat power system. The system performance can be easily adjusted by the removal or installation of a planetary gear set and a clutch box. In this way, the system is configurable with components removed or substituted to allow for a less capable but lower cost offering, while allowing for very simple upgrade to a fully capable system.

  • Patent number: 7520833
Abstract: In a vehicular driving force distribution system, an oil pump which produces a hydraulic pressure for operating a torque distribution mechanism is driven, via gears and a rotating shaft, by the rotation of a differential case of a differential device. Therefore, regardless of the rotational condition of right and left wheels, namely, even if one of the right and left wheels stops, the oil pump is driven by the driving force of the rotating differential case, thereby reliably operating the torque distribution mechanism. Also, a pump unit for housing the oil pump is supported on a partition wall that separates the differential device from the torque distribution mechanism, thereby easily supporting the oil pump.
