Abstract: The invention concerns a method and a transmission arrangement for changing gears in a transmission with a hydrostatic transmission and a manual gearbox (4) connected downstream from it. First the output torque of a hydrostatic motor (9) is reduced. After the reduction of the output torque of the hydrostatic motor (9), an engaged gear (12, 13) of the manual gearbox (9) which is connected downstream is disengaged. An output rotational speed of the hydrostatic motor (9) corresponding to the gear (13, 12) to be engaged is determined. The gear ratio of the hydrostatic transmission is then adjusted, so that the output rotational speed of the hydrostatic motor (9) is higher than the determined corresponding output rotational speed. After this increased output rotational speed is reached, the gear (13, 12) to be engaged is engaged.

  • Patent number: 6988571
Abstract: The purpose of the invention is to enable a crawler tractor to brake and stop certainly without applying a load to an engine and a driving mechanism, and without complicated operation. An operation link links a conic linkage (53) which links a steering wheel (7) with a main speed change lever (55) of the crawler tractor, and with an operation mechanism of a brake pedal (54). A neutral return mechanism for the operation link is provided. The operation link neutral return mechanism comprises a hook-like cam lever (61). When the brake pedal is depressed, the main speed change lever is moved to its neutral position before braking force occurs, and then, the brake is actuated. Accordingly, engine brake is used effectively, and the brake can be miniaturized.

Abstract: A hydrostatic transaxle apparatus comprises a housing in which an HST, a pair of axles, a differential unit differentially connecting the axles to each other, and a horizontal counter shaft interposed between the HST and the differential unit. The HST comprises axial piston type hydraulic pump and motor mounted on vertically opposite surfaces of a center section, respectively, so as to be fluidly connected to each other so that pump and motor shafts are disposed vertically coaxially to each other. The center section is disposed adjacently to the differential unit and one of the axles. A cooling fan is fixed on the pump shaft projecting outward from the housing. When along the pump shaft, most of the housing except portions thereof for housing the respective axles is disposed within an area of rotary locus of the cooling fan.
