  • Patent number: 11073196
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a rotation transmitting device which permits the transmission of rotation with a reduced play and which permits the constituents to be aligned easily. The rotation transmitting device has a transmitting member (30) which surrounds a rotating part (12) of a drive shaft (11) and a rotating part (22) of a driven shaft (21). At least either the rotating part (12) of the drive shaft (11) or the rotating part (22) of the driven shaft (21) has an external surface that comes into contact with the internal surface of the transmitting member (30) so that friction arising between the internal surface and the external surface achieves torque transmission and reception to and from the transmitting member (30).

Abstract: A drive force distributing device includes first and second rollers rotatable jointly with a main drive wheel system and a subordinate drive wheel system, respectively. A shaft portion of the second roller is rotatably supported via a bearing in an eccentric bore of a crankshaft that in turn is rotatable about a fixed axis of a housing. Control of the drive force distribution between the main drive wheels and the subordinate drive wheels is carried out by turning the second roller by the rotation of the crankshaft about the fixed axis to adjust the inter-roller pressing force by an adjustment mechanism which performs a reverse rotation control in which the turning direction of the second roller and the rotation direction of the second roller are in the opposite direction when the detected oil temperature exceeds a predetermined temperature. An identical rotation control is performed otherwise.

  • Patent number: 8608609
Abstract: Disclosed is a symmetrical traction drive that utilizes multi-diameter rollers having traction surfaces for transferring rotational mechanical energy between the shaft and a transfer gear. Multi-diameter rollers are mounted in carriers disposed between two substantially symmetrical ring gears. Sloped traction surfaces of the ring gears mate with inner traction surfaces on both sides of the multi-diameter rollers. Since force is applied to the inner traction surfaces on both sides of the multi-diameter rollers, forces are substantially equalized on each side of the multi-diameter rollers. An outer traction surface of the multi-diameter roller interfaces with a traction surface on the shaft. Speed reduction ratios of at least 20:1 or greater can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 6524213
Abstract: Power rollers 18c are comprised by an inner roller 93 making frictional contact between the input and output disks 18a, 20a and an outer roller 94 supporting a contact load input from the input and output disks 18a, 20a to the inner roller 93 through a ball bearing 92. An inner radial hole 93a is provided on the inner roller 93 to support a pivot shaft 15. The inner radial hole 93a opens near the outer roller and is covered by a bottom part 93b on a side opposite to the outer roller. In this manner, compression deformation of the inner roller is suppressed when a load is applied to the inner roller. Thus smooth rotational motion of the power roller is maintained and component durability can be increased.

  • Patent number: 6494806
Abstract: A lubricating oil supply system for an infinitely variable transmission wherein the infinitely variable transmission has a transmission shaft provided with a lubricating oil path and is rotatably mounted through the wall section of a casing. The infinitely variable transmission is housed in a transmission case partly defined by the wall section. An input rotary member is provided that is relatively unrotatably connected to the transmission shaft on the outside of the transmission case. An oil pump is provided for supplying lubricating oil to the lubricating oil path. The oil pump is located in the casing. In this infinitely variable transmission, the oil passage from the oil pump to the lubricated portion of the infinitely variable transmission is simplified in structure and the oil passage is substantially reduced in length, thereby enabling a decrease in the length of the transmission shaft. The oil pump which is driven by the transmission shaft is located on the wall section.
