  • Patent number: 11554380
Abstract: Disclosed herein are phase separator devices, and related methods of fabrication and use. The disclosure provides improved phase separator devices for phase separation of input feeds, and systems/methods for utilizing and fabricating the devices. The disclosure provides phase separator devices utilizing inertial separation and porous media extraction for the phase separation of two-phase input feeds (e.g., to separate an input feed of a two-phase mixture to a first phase output (e.g., to a liquid output flow) and to a second phase output (e.g., to a gas output flow)). The device can separate a mixed fluid flow of both liquid and gases. The liquid and gas can include liquid and vapor phases of the same chemical/constituent (e.g., ammonia), or may include liquid and gases of two different constituents (e.g., liquid water and air). The phase separator devices can be utilized at standard gravity to micro-gravity to zero gravity environments.

  • Patent number: 10815117
Abstract: A consistent water to chemical ratio in each of two described operating modes is achieved by implementing a closed loop insert comprising a single straw with a dual dilution rate. The closed loop insert is installed at the packaging level and is recessed into the neck of the container so that it does not interfere with the bottle cap or the dispensing unit to which it might be attached. The closed loop engages with a mating cap adapter or chemical dispenser that keys up to a closed insert to allow the dilution dispenser to draw chemical out of the container through the use of a vacuum pressure. The dual dilution rate closed loop insert of the invention has two different metering tip sizes that fit inside a single straw closed loop insert, selected based upon operating modes.

  • Patent number: 8404007
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a reforming apparatus and the like capable of uniformly mixing water (steam) and a raw material together, of preventing the precipitation of carbon without using a temperature controller, and of efficiently heating the water and the mixture by heating gas. Accordingly, the reforming apparatus has the following configuration. The reforming apparatus includes: a first vaporizer (05) that is cylindrically shaped and includes a first flow passage; a second vaporizer (06) that is cylindrically shaped and includes a second flow passage; a duct (027) that connects an outlet of the first flow passage to an inlet of the second flow passage; a raw-material mixing portion (028) formed at a certain point of the duct. The first vaporizer and the second vaporizer are concentrically disposed. An interstice between the first vaporizer and the second vaporizer serves as a heating-gas flow passage (024).

  • Publication number: 20090205252
Abstract: The auger gasifier described includes, in its preferred embodiments, a vertically elongated (“oblong”) primary gasifier chamber with an auger that can move up and down, allowing for large amounts of fuel input when necessary. This improvement, in turn, requires and/or is facilitated by provision for simultaneous elevation adjustments of the auger and bed dam to assure that fuel material is processed in degrees from the top downward without sweeping massive amounts of the fluidized bed materials towards the output end of the chamber. Another improvement involves provision for pressurization of the primary gasifier chamber, allowing substantial improvements in the speed of processing materials through the gasifier. Due to issues arising from thermal expansion of the refractory material lining the chamber, provision is made for nozzle and refractory imbedded pipe hole thermal expansion capability.

  • Publication number: 20080256859
Abstract: The invention relates to a reformer mixing chamber comprising a water vapour-air mixture feeding line and a binary nozzle for supplying a fuel-air mixture, wherein said mixing chamber is rotationally symmetrically shaped and the flow direction of the binary nozzle and the water vapour-air mixture feeding line are axially and oppositely oriented. The inventive mixing chamber is advantageous in that it makes it possible to carry out the fuel as complete as possible conversion. For this purpose, the fuel-air mixture is supplied to the mixing chamber by means of a second binary nozzle, thereby making it possible to supply the mixing chamber with the water vapour-air mixture by another feeding line, wherein the fuel-air mixture flows in the direction opposite to the water vapour-air mixture.
