The pull-out tension provided by the first cord is a tension provided by the first cord when the first cord is pulled from the first pulley. The retraction tension provided by the first cord is a tension provided by the first cord when the first cord is retracted around the first pulley.

  • Patent number: 10434365
Abstract: The present invention comprises a device for strengthening, improving range of motion and/or improving flexibility in ankle joints and/or rehabilitating injured ankle joints. The device comprises a structure or frame, at least one resistance mechanism connected to the structure or frame and a support platform connected to the at least one resistance mechanism for supporting a patient's foot. Rotating, flexing, inverting and/or everting the patient's foot connected to the ankle of interest, which results in pressure applied to the support platform by the patient's foot, increases and/or decreases tension in the at least one resistance mechanism. A variety of stretches and/or strengthening and/or rehabilitating exercises may be performed with the device. The support platform is suspended within the frame on the at least one resistance mechanism and, as a result, the support platform may be rotated, flexed, inverted and/or everted in an infinite number of directions.

Abstract: The present device generally relates to a portable and configurable exercise apparatus. The apparatus has a main aim unit and a removable foot unit. The main arm unit has a first hand grip and a second hand grip separated by a main telescoping shaft wherein pulling the first grip away from the second grip requires resistance and, therein develops strength. The device is configurable so as to allow the user to select the desired resistance. The removable foot unit may be temporarily inserted over the first or the second hand grip so that a user may place his/her feet (either standing, sitting or squatting) over the first or second hand grip and may pull upward with the remaining hand grip to exercise alternative muscles. The first and the second hand grip may rotate with respect to the main body shaft to allow alternative exercises.
