  • Patent number: 11883727
Abstract: The portable and adjustable training apparatus (also labelled as portable hangboard) is portable and can be attached to a fixed point of stabilization via the cord as desired for training purposes. It is freely moveable in that it can be transported to various locations or orientations for use. It is made up of a cylindrical shape in which a hollow core has a cord tied in a loop through the core. The cord is designed to travel through grooves/channels on the apparatus endcap resulting in the body to rotate to desired angle or position for training purposes. Attaching the cord to a fixed point allows the user to apply resistance on the body of the apparatus through the user's fingers resulting in the required resistance to train finger strength. The apparatus is used in training finger strength for sport and recreation.

A resistance band is secured to the elongated member and the hollow member, and slidable movement of the hollow member and the elongated member relative to each other by the operator stretches a resistance band, which creates resistance to the movement, thereby exercising, strengthening, and conditioning the operator. The operator may use the exercise device in a number of configurations to perform a number of exercises in a number of body positions.

  • Patent number: 9415286
Abstract: The invention involves a device for training individuals a proper striking and throwing technique, through simulation, to increase the accuracy and consistency of strikes and pitches, as well as to strengthen muscles through resistance training in order to increase stamina and to reduce muscle fatigue and risk of injury. The system includes a sphere in the form of a game ball secured to each distal end of a resilient member so that a trainee may grip one of the spheres or handle in a desired manner to utilize his/her grip and snap the wrist in a desired manner to work the forearm and hand muscles associated with a proper release of the ball for a desired pitch or proper strike of the game object. The dynamic action provided by the resilient member provides strengthening and muscle memory which can be repeated in a game situation.

Abstract: Disclosed is a hand-grasped exercise unit to assist in reducing wrist and hand pain during exercises such as yoga. The device, normally used in pairs, is constructed for a user to rest the heel of the palm, fingers, and base of the thumb while engaging in exercises normally done in direct contact with a floor or other hard surface. The device comprises a frame having an upper platform, and a support base with two orthogonally-oriented side walls and a rear wall. An opening allows a user to insert four fingers of the hand between the two side walls and grasp a rounded lip on the upper surface of the unit. A main foam layer and a secondary foam layer are affixed to the top surface of the upper platform. The two foam layers are enclosed by a fabric cover to provide additional comfort.

Abstract: An apparatus for training the upper extremities is taught and claimed. The invention comprises a paddle subassembly adapted to slidingly engage with a mount subassembly. A user interacts with the apparatus by pulling on a climbing hold located on the paddle subassembly. The paddle subassembly offers increasing resistance to the user, thus increasing the strength and endurance of the muscle groups exercised. Resistance elements such as, for example, bungee cords and the like are used to provide resistance. The climbing hold is interchangeable, thus allowing the use of various styles and shapes of climbing holds in order to provide a variety of strength exercises for the hands. The slide of the invention is adapted to rotate to a plurality of discrete angles. The invention is particularly useful and training the muscles of the fingers, hands, wrists and forearms in preparation for rock climbing activities.
