Abstract: A map and a marker corresponding to an object of interest are displayed via a user interface of a user apparatus. The marker is displayed on the map at a current marker position. Location data is received by the user apparatus, the location data comprises an instance of location data corresponding to the object. A way point is added to a way point array corresponding to the object based on the location data. Latitude and longitude steps are determined based on (a) the current marker position, (b) a first way point of the way point array, and (c) an adjustment factor. The current marker position is updated and the marker is rendered on the map at the updated current marker position in accordance with the frames per second rate for animating the movement of the marker on the map to smoothly animate the near-real time movement of the object.

Each recovery period corresponds to a respective decrease in pulse rate from a respective upper pulse rate to a respective lower pulse rate. The respective upper pulse rate is less than a peak pulse rate of the subject or the respective lower pulse rate is greater than a resting pulse rate of the subject. The embodiments determine, with the at least one processor, an exponential decay from the plurality of selected recovery periods. The exponential decay characterizes a pulse rate recovery for the subject. The embodiments provide, via a user interface, the pulse rate recovery based on the exponential decay.

Abstract: User activity including both athletic activity (e.g., running, walking, etc.) and non-athletic activity (shopping, reading articles, etc.) may be monitored and tracked by an athletic monitoring and tracking device and service. The user activity may be used to award a user with an amount of virtual currency to encourage the user to continue various activities. In one example, users may use the virtual currency to purchase or otherwise acquire various products, services, discounts and the like. A user may track an amount currency earned and/or needed relative to an amount required to acquire a desired product or service. Additionally or alternatively, a visual appearance of a user device (e.g., a watch or athletic activity band) may change based on the user's activity level, an amount of virtual currency earned and the like.

Abstract: A power measurement assembly mounted within an axle. In a specific example, the axle is a spindle that is interconnects the cranks of a bicycle, exercise, bicycle, or other fitness equipment. The power measurement assembly may include strain gauges connected with an appropriate circuit (e.g., Wheatstone bridge) that provides an output of the force on the axle by a rider pedaling the crank. In the case of an axle, the strain gauges measure the torsion due to the applied torque on the crank. The value is converted to a power value by a processor and that value is then wirelessly transmitted for display. The processor and/or the transmitter may be mounted within the axle. A separate power measurement assembly may be mounted on one of the cranks, which may include its own processor and transmitter or may take advantage of the processor and transmitter within the axle.

Abstract: A safety ensuring system of exercise machine and a related method includes a physiological detection device and an exercise machine. The physiological detection device is used to detect a physiological state of a human body and save the physiological state. Before a user using the exercise machine, the physiological state of the user is detected by the physiological detection device first. The exercise machine includes a control device and a working device, wherein the control device determines whether the working device is allowed to be used according to the physiological state saved in the physiological detection device. The working device is allowed to be used if the physiological state is normal, and it is prohibited from being used otherwise. Whereby, the user in poor physiological state is prevented from doing exercise, which effectively ensures the safety at using the exercise machine.

Abstract: Techniques to determine the three-dimensional structure of wearable items are disclosed. A scanning device can project waves at a wearable item and receive reflections of the waves. In embodiments, the scanning device projects light pulses and detects reflections of the light pulses. Depth measurements from the scanning device to the wearable item can be used to determine points corresponding to locations on the wearable item. A point cloud can be generated of the points, which can convey the three-dimensional structure of the wearable item. In embodiments, another wearable item can be determined to have a corresponding three-dimensional structure based on point cloud comparisons. The second wearable item can be suggested to a user as a wearable item having an appropriate fit for the user.
