Abstract: A side sliding door of a railway vehicle comprises a door body (100), and a driving device for the opening and closing of a doorway. An outer surface of the door body (100) is flush with an outer surface of the vehicle body when the door body (100) is closed. A movement track of the door body is arranged as an arc-plus-linear reciprocating motion. The outer surface of the door body is flush with the outer surface of the vehicle body when the door body is closed, so that there exists no height difference between the vehicle body and a doorway of the side sliding door. Snow accumulation at doorway under an extreme cold working condition is avoided, and then the risk of a door body being frozen is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6088963
Abstract: A retractable cover for an opening of an automotive bay pit wherein the retractable cover is formed by movable and stackable panels. The panels are normally positioned adjacent one another. Each panel includes supporting and spanning edges. Positioned on the supporting edges are slide rails. The slide rails are slidable in two horizontal directions in tracks of the automotive bay pit. The ends of the slide rails are inclined, and abutting ends of the slide rails of adjacent panels are parallel to one another. Because the abutting ends are parallel, an operator's application of a strictly horizontal force to a panel causes the panel to wedge under or slide over an adjacent panel. Therefore, the operator is not required to apply any vertical lifting force to a panel to create an opening in the cover. The operator may move any panel in the cover and move it in either horizontal direction to create the opening in the cover.

  • Patent number: 6065247
Abstract: A pivotable, sliding, glazing structure is disclosed which comprises one or more panes supported between upper and lower guide-rails for horizontal sliding movement along the rails. Each pane has a leading edge and a trailing edge and is adapted to perform a pivoting motion about its leading edge at a respective predetermined position for each pane along the guide-rails. This is achieved by means of a pivot arrangement carried on the pane and arranged in the vicinity of the leading edge. The structure allows the pivot arrangement to be locked against further sliding movement when each pane reaches its respective predetermined position by displacing a portion of the pane inwardly so that at least a part of the pivot arrangement is held in a receiving element mounted on one of the guide-rails.
