Abstract: A window balance assembly for a tilt-in window comprising a bracket, a spring and a carrier. The first spring has a first portion engaging the bracket. The carrier has a vertical portion including a first slot, a first projection extending outwardly from a first side of the vertical portion, and a second attachment projection extending outwardly from a second side of the vertical portion. The first slot receives a pivot bar of the tilt-in window via a vertical drop-in installation. One of the first and second attachment protrusions engages the first portion of the spring. The horizontal portion includes an aperture rotatably engaging a cam between a first position and a second position. The cam has a second slot aligned with the first slot when the cam is in the first position allowing for the pivot bar to move between the first slot and the second slot.

Abstract: A window balance assembly may include a spring member, a mounting bracket, and a carrier. The spring member may include a first portion and a second portion. The mounting bracket may engage the first portion of the spring member. The carrier may include an upper body portion supporting the second portion of the spring member and removably engaging the mounting bracket, a lower body portion rotatably supporting a cam, and an elongated central portion extending between the upper body portion and the lower body portion. The elongated central portion may be resiliently flexible to allow movement of the lower body portion relative to the upper body portion.

Abstract: An opening/closing mechanism for a cover of an imaging device includes a cover that is moved between a closed position and an inclined position in such a manner that the cover is inclined with respect to an outer housing of an imaging device, is moved in a straight line with respect to the outer housing, and has a pressing operation portion and an portion to be locked, a slide base that supports the cover slidably between the inclined position and the open position, and has a locking portion which is engaged with the portion to be locked to lock the cover at the open position, and a tilting base that supports the slide base tiltably between an initial position and a tilted position. When the cover is placed at the closed position, the slide base is placed at the initial position.
Abstract: A movable barrier for controlling accesses in general, comprising at least one wing which is provided by at least two mutually connected panels which can rotate to arrange themselves in a mutually superimposed position and in a side-by-side adjacent position as a continuation of each other, in the access blocking position the two panels being in a mutually superimposed position.

Abstract: A cord tensioned by a spring supports the sash of a hung window in a stationary position while the sash is tilted for cleaning. The cord pulls a pulley attached to the spring which extends as the sash is further tilted. A tubing houses the spring and pulley and provides a stop that limits the maximum tilt of the sash.
Abstract: There is disclosed a metal window frame in which balance mechanisms are positioned in the upper portions of the jambs adjacent the sides of a fixed pane or panes, the front faces of the housings for such mechanisms being in a plane parallel to the outer face of a sash that is slidable from a closed position in the lower portion of the frame to a fully open position in the upper portion thereof. The mechanisms and sash are coupled via identical foot structures which are attached to the lower ends of the balances, and which have hook portions extending through the plane of the outer face portion of the sash so as to maintain engagement with the lower end of the sash throughout its normal movement. Catches in the jambs limit the upper position of the foot structures when the sash is raised to an uppermost position for removal from the frame.
