Abstract: I designed the “Classic Step Store Gate”, It does not use a pivot post. Classic, Step Store Gate uses my special hinge made by modifying a strap hinge. “Classic” is different in design; “Classic” has a rounded firm handrail across the top, and can help prevent a fall at the steps. It is used at steps going up or down. The opening end of the gate is lifted to open toward steps or into the room. The “Classic Step Store Gate”, has an attractive clean look from the front view, and an interesting mechanical view from the back. The gate can be stored along the wall on the steps.

  • Patent number: 7997028
Abstract: An internal swivel door for an aircraft compartment. A door frame for entering the compartment includes a horizontal element and at least one door leaf which is mounted inside the door frame wherein the door leaf is turned about a vertical door rotational axis. The vertical door rotational axis is moved in parallel along a predetermined local curve. In order to take up less space during opening and closing of the door and to be able to operate the door with the least possible force, the door has a rotary sliding joint between the door leaf and the horizontal element. The door leaf has a rotational movement about a momentary rotational axis running through the rotary sliding joint wherein the momentary rotational axis is moved in parallel both in relation to the horizontal element and the door leaf.

  • Patent number: 7735261
Abstract: A preferred embodiment of a self-locking door assembly includes a door whose hinged-side connects to one side of a door frame by at least one hinge having two pivot joints. One of the pivot joints is mounted to the door frame and the other is mounted to the inside of the door. The free end of the door carries a latch member which engages an underside of the opposite side of the door frame when the door is partially or fully closed. After the latch engages the frame, forcing the hinged side of the door closed causes the hinge to toggle, holding the door closed under force and takes up play in the pivot joints and/or latch. For security, the pivot joints and latch are concealed when the door assembly is closed.

  • Patent number: 7396068
Abstract: An apparatus for attaching a door to a passenger vehicle body having a lift arm and a hinge assembly. The lift arm rotatably connects the door to the vehicle body. The lift arm imparts upward rotational movement to the door relative to the vehicle body as upward pressure is applied to the arm. The hinge assembly allows the door to open horizontally about a pair of hinges connected to the hinge assembly. A stop pin assembly dictates whether the door can be opened vertically or horizontally.

  • Patent number: 6834834
Abstract: Articulation device for an aircraft door panel and an aircraft door integrating such a device. An aircraft door panel is articulated on the jamb by a device (20) that defines an approximately elliptical opening and closing trajectory, in which the major axis is approximately perpendicular to the panel. The device (20) comprises in particular a main arm (30), a secondary arm (32) articulated at the end of the main arm and a control lever (34) connecting the secondary arm (32) to the jamb, by articulation axes (A4, A5) close to the articulation axes of the main arm (30) on the jamb and the secondary arm (32) on the main arm. This arrangement makes it possible to fit a more voluminous emergency exit chute into the door panel.
