  • Patent number: 10415293
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for minimizing closing force of a door. The apparatus comprises a housing adapted to be disposed in the hinged edge of the door. A piston is slidably mounted in the bore. A button having an inner end and an outer end is disposed in the bore with the inner end of the button engaging the piston for urging the button toward a first extended position where the button extends from the edge of the door. The button is slidable in the bore relative to the housing for reciprocal movement between the extended position and a second position where the button is depressed into the bore against the force of the piston. The button is disposed so that the outer end of the button engages the door frame for slowing movement of the door in a closing direction as the button is moved into the bore to the depressed second position.

  • Patent number: 5269538
Abstract: Seal preferably intended to be used for door locks on motor vehicles. The seal comprises an annular base part, an annular combined sealing surface made up of a first part surface and a second part surface which intersect at an intersection region at an angle .beta., and an annular flexible element connecting the base part with the combined sealing surface. The seal is arranged such that, for example, when a vehicle door to which the lock is fitted is in a non-sealing position, the first part surface of the combined sealing surface forms an angle .alpha. in relation to a plane A--A which is parallel to the part of the door which is to be sealed.

  • Patent number: 4947584
Abstract: An automatic door bottom is disclosed in which a channel member has a drop bar assembly mounted therein with an adjustable length push rod connected to the drop bar for cooperation with a spring means to selectively lower and raise the drop bar in response to opening and closing the door. A pair of magnets are placed within the channel on the drop bar and in the channel for effecting movement of the drop bar to insure that the bar drops in a sizzle-like manner, with the end closest to the door hinge dropping down and lifting up, before the end away from the door hinge.

  • Patent number: 4170846
Abstract: An automatic base seal for a door where a deformable rod having an end fixed in a molding deforms transversely through a slot when its other free end is engaged by a door frame when the door is closed. The deformed portion of the rod displaces a seal against the threshold to seal the bottom of the door. Sides of a groove in the molding guide the deformed portion of the rod, and return springs maintain the seal retracted and adjacent the slot when the door is open. In one embodiment the seal pivots, and in another embodiment the seal moves vertically.
