Patent number: 9003707Abstract: A positioning element permits the panel or engine bonnet of a motor vehicle to be brought from the closed position into a position in which a gap forms between the upper edge of the opening and the lower edge of the panel. The panel can thus easily be unlocked and fully opened. The positioning element with inner lever and outer lever is connected to a drive component, which via the drive element and the drive pawl with a detent ensures that the panel is brought in a simple manner via the levers into the first raised position, for which purpose the detent is pushed into the recess of the outer lever and thus brings the outer lever and the inner lever into the first raised position. Once the panel has been brought by spring loading into the second raised position with the aid of the spring-loaded inner lever, the upward travel is completed, so that by means of the spring force associated with the outer lever, said outer lever then quickly pivots both levers back into the initial position.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2012Date of Patent: April 14, 2015Assignee: Kiekert AktiengesellschaftInventor: Uwe Reddmann

Patent number: 8997402Abstract: The disclosure discloses a door device including a panel, a pivoting arm module, and a door. The pivoting arm module includes a holder and a panel-pivoting arm. The holder is located in a doorway of the panel and fixed to the panel. The holder has an entrance and an accommodating trough. The panel-pivoting arm is slidably accommodated in the accommodating trough and can present a received status or an ejected status relative to the holder. The door is pivotally connected to the panel-pivoting arm. When the panel-pivoting arm presents the received status, the door abuts against the panel and closes the doorway, and the appearance surface of the door is flush with that of the panel. When the panel-pivoting arm presents the ejected status, the door leaves the panel and can rotate relative to the panel-pivoting arm to open the doorway.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 2013Date of Patent: April 7, 2015Assignee: Wistron Corp.Inventor: Zhong-Hui Mao

Patent number: 8707625Abstract: A closure includes a panel closing against a frame. A set of abutment surfaces for supporting the panel against applied forces is completed by a displaceable abutment block which selectively assumes an engaged state disposed between an abutment surface of the panel and an abutment surface of a strike jamb. The geometry of engagement is such that forces acting on the abutment block opposing opening of the panel are primarily compressive forces. Certain implementations additionally, or alternatively, employ abutment blocks for locking along the lintel or the threshold of the opening.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2011Date of Patent: April 29, 2014Assignee: Dan Raz Ltd.Inventors: Dan Raz, Zeev Geva, Amir Raz, Yaniv Marmur

Patent number: 8272165Abstract: A catcher member is provided to be movable between a standby position and a retracted position, and at the standby position, while being urged by an urging device, the catcher member is positioned in the standby position by a holding device. When a movable body is moved forward a predetermined movement position, a striker member is caught and engaged with the catcher member positioned in the standby position, and subsequently, holding by the holding device is released, and the catcher member is moved or relatively moved up to the retracted position by being urged by the urging device, so that the urging force is applied to the movable body up to position where the movement ends. An operation device is provided so as to be able to operate to move the catcher member which was moved to the retracted position without catching the striker member, toward the standby position.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2008Date of Patent: September 25, 2012Assignee: Nifco Inc.Inventor: Kazuyuki Tomioka

Patent number: 6446391Abstract: A cable actuator for a casement sash includes a cable engager that moves against an opening pull cable and diverts the cable to an elongated path when the sash is closed. When the opening pull cable is tensioned to open the sash, this moves the cable back to a shorter tensioned path that moves the cable engager in a way that initiates opening the sash. Thereafter, the sash opens further in response to winding in of the opening pull cable.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2000Date of Patent: September 10, 2002Assignee: Caldwell Manufacturing CompanyInventor: E. Patent number: 6009666Abstract: A door opening and closing mechanism, wherein a swinging door to cover an opening for loading, unloading, or exchanging discs comprises two doors, an upper door (14) and a lower door (13), each of which is supported by pivots (14a) and (13a). The opening is covered, when closing the doors, with the two doors, the upper door (14) and the lower door (13), by an interlocking motion by engaging a sliding guide (14b) provided on the upper door (14) and a sliding pin (13b) provided on the lower door (13). When opening the doors, the lower door (13) is nested inside the upper door (14) guided by pivots (14a), (13a), the sliding guide (14b), and the sliding pin (13b), whereby the amount of the projection of the doors when open corresponds to the projection only of the upper door (14).Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 1998Date of Patent: January 4, 2000Assignee: Matshushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventor: Hiroshi Nakamoto

Patent number: 4378657Abstract: A laterally swinging gate adapted for opening with a vehicle comprises a gate frame including stiff longitudinal members (1, 2) and upright end members (3, 4) interconnected and adapted to function as a torsion spring. The gas is pivoted at one end to a first post (16) for pivotal movement about an inclined hinge axis so that the gate is normally urged toward the closed position. At the other end of the gate a pair of second posts (71) support a bumper thrust actuated assembly (62) by which the gate is longitudinally twisted. A latch mechanism (64) releases the gate at a predetermined angle of twist so that it can swing to the open position under spring action. The gate is held in the open position for a predetermined time by a retainer mechanism (60) mounted on the first post (16).Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1980Date of Patent: April 5, 1983Inventor: Felix B.
