Convertible Patents (Class 49/37)
  • Patent number: 10781627
Abstract: An improvement in a portable building (B) comprises a ramp door (100) installed in an opening (O) formed in a sidewall (S) of the building. An upper door frame member (106) is hingedly installed to the side of building so to cover the upper end of the ramp door. When the member is in a vertical position, it prevents the ramp door from being lowered; but when the member is rotated to a horizontal position, it unblocks the upper end of the door so the door can be lowered and raised.

  • Patent number: 4478001
Abstract: The present invention relates to a protective entranceway contained in the outer door of a van, trailer or other shelter means. In one mode our device takes the form of a door operable about a vertical hinge line, and although thicker than an ordinary door, it serves in the manner of an ordinary door to provide closure for the shelter means at such time as no contamination is present. A platform is contained on the outer portion of our door, which is enabled to swing downwardly at the time of a contamination alert. A canopy that had been contained in the door in a folded condition is caused by downward movement of the platform to deploy and form a closed entranceway serving in a second mode of use to prevent contaminated air from entering the shelter means.

  • Patent number: 4194458
Abstract: A standard windsurfer having a surfboard-type body provided with a daggerboard and having a mast and boom that support a sail on the surfboard is formed with an upwardly open storage compartment that is normally covered by a reversible lid. One side of the lid is smooth and when turned up forms a smooth continuation of the upper surface of the surfboard. The other side is formed with a seat which when turned up provides a stable sitting place for the user of the windsurfer who may also place his or her feet in recesses in front of this seat. The mast and boom may be held on the top of the surfboard by means of clips, with the mast passing through a groove formed in the seat. The storage compartment contains auxiliary propulsion equipment such as a paddle which may fit into the end of a mast section, or a small electric outboard motor.

  • Patent number: 4014486
Abstract: An air stair-door combination for an aircraft is described in which interference between the door and the stairway in opening and closing thereof is eliminated by delayed motion of the stairway until the door is moved through a significant portion of its travel. The stair being interconnected to the door counterbalances a portion of the weight of the door, thus decreasing power requirements for opening and closing the stairway and door. A folding handrail structure adapted to nestle into the folded stairway is described. The door and stair actuator operates on a pivot point located on the door such that initial opening movement of the door causes stair operating rods to first travel downwardly past an overcenter point, then upwardly through further movement of the pivot point. The stair segments are projected outwardly by stair actuator linkage means driven by the operating rods.
