Abstract: A frameless access panel comprising a panel member having an inner surface and an outer surface, a mounting member mounted to the inner surface and comprising at least one fixed tab extending outwardly therefrom, the fixed tab being spaced from a first edge of the panel member, and at least one cam latch member comprising a cam latch rotatable around an axis spaced from a second edge of the panel member, which is opposite the first edge. The cam latch is rotatable between a first position and a second position, where the second position is spaced further from the second edge than the first position. The frameless access panel is generally non-combustible.

Abstract: A confined space control cover that covers a man-way to a confined space area and prevents a person from breaking the plane of the confined space. The cover includes a base cover, an inwardly projecting lip and a radially extending channel along the lip. The cover is secured by an elastic band or a heavy nylon strapping received in the channel. The strapping has two ends extending from the cover, each end having at least one steel eyelet. A lock is placed through the eyelets on both ends to secure the control cover to the man-way. The control cover may also includes a warning sign disposed on the front of the base cover to prevent persons from entering the confined space area and/or a maintenance tag that is attached to the strapping to indicate maintenance activity performed near or within the confined space area or man-way.

Abstract: An access panel for an opening in a duct is provided. The access panel includes an exterior and an interior. The access panel further includes a section positioned on the interior and having a profile substantially corresponding to the opening in the duct. A plurality of fasteners is positioned about the section. Each fastener has a clip configured to move to a position defined to extend away from the profile of the section on the interior. When the access panel is positioned with the section on the interior against the opening in the duct and the fasteners are moved to the locking position the clips rotate to extend over the profile and secure a portion of the duct adjacent to the opening against the interior of the access panel.

Abstract: A gate apparatus that includes a gate, an elongate member or gate base for the ends of the gate, and a stairway post adapter such that a wooden stairway post can serve as a base for a gate without harming the wood of the stairway post. The stairway post adapter includes a vertical or longitudinally running channel for receiving the gate base, a horizontally or laterally extending channel for receiving a strap, and a recess or receptor or face for confronting a section of a stairway post. The gate base includes an upper and lower eyelet. Each of the ends of the gate includes upper and lower pins for engaging the upper and lower eyelets of the gate bases. On the hinge side of the gate, the pins are relatively long and remain in the eyelets as the gate is lifted and swung. On the latch side of the gate, the pins are relatively short such that that latch side of the gate can be lifted and disengaged from the eyelets and then swung open. The gate is extendable and retractable in length, and is reversible.

Abstract: A removable cover for covering an access opening in a structure includes a plate member having two opposite side edges and front and rear sides. An elongate clamping member has two opposite end sections each forming an elongate clamping element and each extending towards a respective one of the side edges from a central region of the plate member. The clamping member is formed from a flexible material and is attached at a central portion thereof to the rear side of the plate. The two opposite end sections are substantially rigid while a central section has at least one flexible transverse portion. A separate spring device is mounted on the clamping member and has two elongate spring arms projecting outwardly in order to engage and bias the clamping elements towards engagement with the rear side of the plate member.

Abstract: A locking core plug includes an upper plate, an insertion portion extending outward from the upper plate and forming an outer perimeter, and a locking mechanism positioned within the outer perimeter of the insertion portion. The locking mechanism includes a rotating member, a plurality of locking arms having a first end connected to the rotating member and a second end extending outward toward holes in the outer perimeter, and a plurality of guides fixedly mounted to the upper plate. Each guide engages a corresponding locking arm to convert the circular movement of the first end of the arm as rotating member rotates into a generally linear movement of the second end between a release position retracted toward or within the outer perimeter of the insertion portion and a locking position extended outward from the outer perimeter of the insertion portion.

The movable bolt is movable between a fastening configuration where the bolt is coupled with at least one of the retainer bar and the retainer bar handle and the retainer bar is fixed in an installed orientation relative to the sash, and a releasing configuration where the bolt is decoupled from one or more of the retainer bar and the retainer bar handle and the retainer bar is slidable relative to the sash.

Two main panels slide parallel to each other to lengthen or shorten the barrier as a whole. The wood lends less weight, less sharp edges, and more pleasing aesthetics than, for example, a metal gate.

Abstract: A safety gate has a doorframe, a fence door and a repositioning unit. The doorframe has a base frame, a first side frame, and a second side frame. The repositioning unit is mounted on a bottom of the fence door and has a repositioning recess. The repositioning recess selectively engages a top of the base frame and has two opposite guiding surfaces. When the fence door is open at an angle under 5 degrees relative to the doorframe, one of the guiding surfaces abuts a side of the top of the base frame. Because the guiding surface is curved and inclined relative to the fence door and because a distance between the guiding surfaces is decreased gradually, the guiding surface gradually rotates the fence door to close. As a result, the repositioning unit can close the fence door that is open slightly at a small angle.

Abstract: A low-profile barrier and method of installation is provided including a barrier door located in an opening defined by a frame having a pair of upwardly extending arms connected to a lower cross member. In an un-installed position, the lower cross member has a curvature biasing the upwardly extending arms outward. In an installed position, the curvature of the lower cross member is compressed to zero so that the lower cross member lays flat against a lower surface.

Abstract: A barrier has an expandable width barrier having opposing first and second ends. A locking arm is pivotably coupled to the expandable width barrier at the first end and slidably coupled to the expandable width barrier at the second end. The locking arm may be an adjustable-length construction. The pivoting of the locking arm causes the barrier to move between locked and unlocked states. When the locking arm is pivoted to lock the barrier, it causes the barrier to linearly expand a supplemental amount and fits the barrier to opposing sides of a passageway opening.

Abstract: A barrier for the inside of a home. The barrier includes two partitions that slide relative to each other to increase and decrease a distance between ends of the barrier. The partitions slide into and out of confronting relationships with each other. The partitions engage each other at upper and lower locations and further at a medial location where an elongate member of one partition is received in a tube engaged to the other partition. A threaded piece upon being turned brings pressure to bear upon an end of the tube such that the partitions can be incrementally expanded apart and thereby pressurized between two locations within the home so as to block off one portion of the home. The threaded piece is slideable along the elongate member.

Abstract: A detachable cover system is described herein for covering an opening of an enclosure. The system comprises an enclosure, a cover, a first magnetic structure attached to the enclosure, a second magnetic system attached to the cover, and a coil in proximity to one of the first magnetic structure and the second magnetic structure. The first and second magnetic structures are configured to magnetically attach such that the cover covers the opening.

Abstract: A box security cover comprising a box cover and a locking assembly. The box security cover can be positioned on a box, and the locking assembly can move between an unlocked position in which the security cover can be removed and a locked position in which braces of the locking assembly can contact interior surfaces of the box, preventing removal of the security cover from the box.

Abstract: A bore-scope sealing apparatus is provided for removably sealing a bore-scope opening in a turbomachine wall with a plug. The bore-scope sealing apparatus includes a bayonet coupling via which the plug is mountable to the bore-scope opening. The bayonet coupling has a projection at the plug and a corresponding recess at the bore-scope opening. A resilient retaining device is arranged at the recess being compressed by the projection in a sealing position to retain the plug in the bore-scope opening.

A hole-side convex portion 80 is formed in each opening 12 at one or more locations in a circumferential direction, and a door-side rib 70 is formed on each door body 30. The hole-side convex portions 80 formed in the openings 12A to 12C differ in location in the circumferential direction among the plural openings 12A to 12C. The door-side ribs 70 formed on the respective door bodies 30A to 30C are provided in such locations as not to interfere with the hole-side convex portions 80 provided in the openings 12A to 12C in correct combination with the door bodies 30A to 30C.

Abstract: A water deflector includes a skeleton and a skin. The skeleton fills substantially the entire perimeter of an access opening. The skin is formed integrally over the skeleton, such that at least a portion of the skeleton is captured by the skin. The skin also spans substantially all of an interior of the access opening. A snap feature is formed in the skeleton and configured to mate to a perimeter of the access opening. Therefore, the skeleton is configured to hold the water deflector in the access opening such that the water deflector prevents passage of moisture through the access opening.

Abstract: A baby gate assembly which opens automatically only when detecting a designated person, by IR detection, RFID tagging or voice recognition. One or more IR detectors are mounted on a telescopic mast, enabling designation by height selection and the sensed signal compared with a datum or another IR facing in an opposite direct to provide signal operating reversible stepping motor to unlatch the gate. The control circuitry maintains the gate unlatched for sufficient time for the designated person to push open and walk through the gate in a hands free operation. A pedal release mechanism is also enabling unlatching during a power cut. The automatic and pedal unlatching mechanisms are linked for lost motion permitting independent operation.

In the door opening/closing structure, an axial member attached to a door and an axial member attached to an object to which the door is attached are arranged to oppose each other in at least one position of the rotatably fixed door, wherein one of the two axial members comprises a magnet and the other comprises a magnetic body or a magnet which attracts each other with the magnet.

Abstract: A safety gate has two frame assemblies, a shaft fixing assembly and a stretcher assembly. A relative distance between the two frame assemblies is fixed by the shaft fixing assembly first. The stretcher assembly further pushes the two frame assemblies outwardly so that the two frame assemblies tightly abut against two walls of a mounting premise and can be held on the walls securely. When the safety gate is not in use, the stretcher assembly is released to loosen the safety gate from the walls and the stretcher assembly can be moved to elsewhere. As the safety gate can be repeatedly mounted without having to readjust the relative distance between the two frame assemblies with the shaft fixing assembly, the operation of the safety gate is easy and convenient.

The locking mechanism preferably includes a utility box engagement member coupled to the underside of the utility box lid. The locking mechanism is movable between a locked and unlocked position. Rotating the fastener in a first direction causes the locking mechanism to assume a first, locked position. Rotating the fastener in a second direction causes the locking mechanism to assume a second, unlocked position. In the locked position the utility box engagement member is engaged with an interior surface of the utility box lid.

Abstract: A removable tailgate gap cover for preventing ingress of debris in a tailgate gap. The gap cover comprises an elongated cover plate having a top surface, a bottom surface, two longitudinal edges and an elongated support bar having an upper end and a lower end, wherein the upper end is fixedly attached to and substantially centrally aligned with the lengthwise direction of the bottom surface. The elongated support bar comprises a magnetic attaching means disposed along the lower end of the elongated support bar for attaching the gap cover to the floor of the end portion of the truck bed.

Abstract: A barrier or partition for the inside of a house having upper and lower barrier sections that are adjustable relative to each other such that the barrier as a whole is adjustable in height. The upper and lower barrier sections have paired vertically extending support members that slide relative to each other. At least one pair of vertically extending support members have a pincher or pincher mechanism that squeezes upon one of the vertically extending support members to fix the vertically extending support members in a nonsliding fashion relative to each other. The barrier includes a gate that also includes upper and lower sections and paired vertically extending support members that slide relative to each other. Further upper and lower sections, with or without gates, may be laterally attached or detached to increase or decrease a length of the barrier.

Abstract: A removable security structure interposed between two window configurations is comprised of interconnecting horizontal and vertical members. The vertical members engage a gear junction of the horizontal members such that upon rotation of the vertical members, the horizontal members telescopically collapse. The reduction of length of each horizontal member disengages each horizontal member from a frame housing the window configurations. The rotation of the vertical members also frees the upper portion of the vertical members of the security structure. With the upper and side portions of the security structure freed, the security structure can be rotated and removed from the frame allowing egress.

Abstract: A latch apparatus for releasably securing a cover member over an access opening in a bulk storage structure. The latch apparatus is pivotally mounted to a cover member and includes a pair of latch members and a latch bar connected to and extending between the latch members. The latch members have a receptacle that receives a catch member and an extension that extends away from the latch member opposite the receptacle. The extension engages the cover member when the latch member is moved from a locked position to an unlocked position to prevent injury to a user.

Abstract: A locking core plug includes an upper plate, an insertion portion extending outward from the upper plate and forming an outer perimeter, and a locking mechanism positioned within the outer perimeter of the insertion portion. The locking mechanism includes a rotating member, a plurality of locking arms having a first end connected to the rotating member and a second end extending outward toward holes in the outer perimeter; and a plurality of guides fixedly mounted relative to the upper plate. Each guide engages a corresponding locking arm to convert the circular movement of the first end of the arm as rotating member rotates into an outward movement of the second end from a release position retracted toward or within the outer perimeter of the insertion portion to a locking position extended outward from the outer perimeter of the insertion portion.

Abstract: A storm and hurricane shutter quick release mechanism for permitting quick egress from a building that has storm shutters attached to the doors and windows to allow someone inside the building to leave the building quickly. The system includes a quick release housing mounted at the base of each shutter panel attached to the building that includes removable studs that are actuated by a cam mechanism from the inside of the building that release the attaching studs that hold the shutters in place from the quick release housing thereby releasing the shutter fasteners at the base allowing the shutters to be quickly removed by actuating the cam mechanism from inside the building.

Abstract: A reconfigurable gate includes a first fence section, a section fence section and third fence section. The first fence section includes a plurality of first cross members. The second fence section includes a plurality of second cross members. The third fence section includes a plurality of third cross members. The first fence section and the second fence section are rotatably attached to the third fence section such that when the gate or fence is in a fully collapsed configuration, the plurality of first cross members and the plurality of second cross members are substantially interleaved with the plurality of third cross members.

Abstract: A barrier that is pressurized after being assembled from multiple pieces. The barrier include a first end frame, a second end frame, and a gate engaged between the end frames. The first and second end frames are engaged at their lower members such that the first end frame and second end frame are not integral and not one-piece with each other, and such that the first and second end frames still provide for a pressurized barrier, that is a barrier that is resiliently mounted between two locations so as to be self-supporting between two locations even if spaced from the floor. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the first end frame, second end frame, and gate have generally the same length so as to minimize the storage area needed to store the barrier prior to assembly.

The gate assembly includes barrier means mountable directly or indirectly to one or more surrounding surfaces defining the opening. Hinge means are provided to allow the barrier means to be movable relative to the surrounding surfaces in use between a closed position, wherein the opening is closed, to an open position, wherein the opening is open. The hinge means include a hinge pin movably mounted in a channel or recess. The channel or recess receiving the hinge pin in use has a taper which narrows from an opening of said channel or recess through which said hinge pin is located in use towards a base or opposite end of said recess or channel.

Abstract: Disclosed is a two or three phase separator including a centrifugal separator, a demister (if a three phase separator), and a filter contained within a housing. The filter uses an outside-in flow principle. The filter includes an inner layer or a center core that defines a hollow interior. An outer layer is positioned adjacent and surrounding the inner layer. The outer layer includes a re-enforcement layer, a first particle filter layer, a coalescer layer, and a second particle filter layer. An access cover of the separator includes a cover plug, an actuator cam, a plurality of idler cam plates, and a plurality of mechanisms. The access cover cooperates with an opening and an annular groove in the housing to close off and seal the separator.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an air conditioner cover having at least two posts, a plurality of slats, and a plurality of obstructions used to properly distance the slats from the ground. The air conditioner cover also has connectors disposed between said posts and said slats in some embodiments. The air conditioner cover is designed to surround an air conditioner unit in order to hide it from sight and to protect the air conditioner unit from various types of damage. The present invention is specifically designed to ensure appropriate ventilation, as the uniquely shaped slats have in order to provide a spacing gap for ventilation purposes, while still providing a barrier to the air conditioner unit.

Abstract: A crawl space access door assembly having a frame that can be installed while a foundation of a home or other structure and a door is under construction or retrofitted to an existing structure. The crawl space access door frame assembly is sized so as to accept a removable crawl space access door. Sidewall ribs are formed so as to extend from the outer sides of the first sidewall and the second sidewall of the frame and operate in mating relationship with a groove formed in the blocks used to create the frame of the structure to aid in securing the crawl space access door frame assembly to the structure.
