Abstract: A radial spacing, between two rotating cylindrical embossing tools, is adjustable, in an embossing device (14) having: an armature (19, 21); a first structure (16, 24, 26, 27, 29) which is movably mounted in translation relative to the armature (19, 21), which has a first rotating cylindrical tool (16); a second structure (17, 22, 28, 31) mounted in a fixed manner on the armature (19, 21) and which is provided with a second rotating cylindrical tool (17). A method includes steps of: pushing (T) on the first structure to move it closer to the second structure by leaning on the armature (19, 21) to adjust a radial space, or pulling (P) on the first structure (16, 24, 26, 27, 29) in order to move it away from the second structure (17, 22, 28, 31) by leaning on the armature (19, 21) in order to finely adjust the radial spacing between the first and the second tools (16, 17).

  • Patent number: 8480550
Abstract: A nonconforming product removing unit is disposed between a folding unit and a counter ejector of a box making machine, and includes a sort-out unit that conveys a corrugated board box whose joint is judged to be good by a judging unit to the counter ejector, and on the other hand discharges a corrugated board box whose joint is judged to be bad by the judging unit. Accordingly, only the conforming corrugated board box can be conveyed to the counter ejector. Therefore, the nonconforming board box can be removed easily, without requiring complicated work of taking out the nonconforming corrugated board box from among corrugated board boxes sorted into a predetermined number of batches by the counter ejector, and re-sorting only the conforming corrugated board boxes into a predetermined number of batches.

Abstract: Disclosed is a card game wherein payouts are based on a maximum number of matching suits in a player's hand. Players have the option to choose the size of their hand at the outset of the game. In one live version, once players select their hand size and place their wagers, dealers deal each player two cards. Additional cards are dealt as common cards. Alternatively, players may be dealt all cards directly. Players are paid based on one of multiple pay tables depending on the maximum number of cards which have identical suits in their hand. The greater the number of identical suits in the hand, the greater the payout. Jackpots, including progressive jackpots, based on poker rankings may also be implemented. In a second live version, players may place six wagers on hands having from two to five cards. In this version, players receive four cards which may be used in combination with a single common card. Electronic gaming devices may also facilitate video versions of the game.

Abstract: Conventionally, large-volume carton packs are constructed in such a way that two mutually opposite walls (bottom wall 19 and cover wall 20) are formed from folding tabs (15 to 18) overlapping one another. The folding tabs are connected to one another by adhesive bonding. • Patent number: 4913691
Abstract: This invention relates to a device for the assembling of cuttings, more particularly for the production of packing boxes, of the type including a plurality of work places arranged along a main vacuum conveyor, the work places consisting mainly of a first margin stop system (8) with at least one stack loader (66) and one conveyor (9) intended to position a first cutting on said main conveyor, at least one gumming machine (10) designed to apply a film of glue on at least a portion of the first cutting and at least a second margin stop system (11) with a stack loader and a conveyor intended to position a second cutting on the first cutting. The main conveyor according to this invention is a linear horizontal type with at least one notched belt (2), guided in a slide (3) whose depth is slightly less than the thickness of the notched belt (2).

  • Patent number: 4486186
Abstract: The trailing end of a running tow of filamentary filter material in a filter rod making machine is spliced to the leader of a fresh tow, and the splice is held at a preselected location ahead of the first tow treating station in the machine. An optoelectric or pressure-responsive detector generates a signal when the splice advances beyond such location on expiry of the running tow, i.e., when the second tow begins to advance through the machine. The signal is used to reduce the speed of the prime mover of the machine during travel of the splice therethrough, to increase the width of passages which are defined for the tow by the banding, spreading, stretching, plasticizer-applying and/or other units for the tow so that the splice can readily advance therethrough, and/or to effect automatic segregation of those filter rod sections which contain portions of the splice.

  • Patent number: 4402410
Abstract: Apparatus for sorting sheets from a stack. A take-out device is provided for drawing sheets from the stack one at a time. These sheets are transferred to an inspecting station which classifies the sheets and sorts them into reusable sheets and unreusable sheets. The reusable sheets are bundled. The unreusable sheets are first collected until the entire stack of sheets has been processed. Only then are the collected unreusable sheets automatically invalidated.

  • Patent number: 4349998
Abstract: A carton inspecting and conveying apparatus is disclosed as including a lower horizontal conveyor formed by two parallel spaced plastic chain loops with retractable pawls therebetween for stopping cartons at stations along the conveyor. At one such station, jets of air are directed at each carton to open any improperly sealed flaps, open flaps being photoelectrically detected. A pneumatic ejector at a subsequent station is selectively actuated by an electronic control unit responsive to the photodetector to remove unsealed cartons from the conveyor. A pneumatic lifting head is provided to transfer cartons from the conveyor to an accumulator column in the event of a carton backup. An elevator having platforms passing between the plastic chains lifts cartons from the lower conveyor, and a rotary transfer device places them on an upper outfeed conveyor belt.
