Publication number: 20110057069Abstract: A paperboard core suitable for use in winding yarns may include strips of paperboard wrapped about an axis and secured together to form an elongate structure defining a winding surface. A coating of a polymer such as polyvinylidene chloride covers the winding surface. The coating may be applied to the strips of paperboard prior to winding and/or applied to the winding surface after winding. The coating may comprise multiple layers of the polymer, which may be cured individually. The coating may also be applied so as to create a substantially uninterrupted coating along the winding surface. One method of applying the coating is by roll-coating.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 9, 2009Publication date: March 10, 2011Applicant: Sonoco Development, Inc.Inventors: Ismael A. Publication number: 20090090808Abstract: A method of producing a roll center for one of toilet paper and paper towels that is water soluble. The method comprises the steps of selecting a rod that has the diameter of a traditional toilet paper roll center followed by a step of wrapping a water dissolvable material around the rod. There is a step of drying the material for a predetermined time, such predetermined time being sufficient for such material to become firm and a step of placing toilet paper around the material as is done with traditional roll centers.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2008Publication date: April 9, 2009Inventors: Nathan K. Patent number: 7399264Abstract: A process for producing high pressure tubing from austenitic stainless steels. The process entails passing a continuous austenitic stainless steel strip through pre-weld rolls enclosed in a forming housing to produce a continuous tubular shape having opposing edges separated by a longitudinal gap. While the gap is maintained with a seam guide and a liquid-free gas mixture of an inert gas and a gaseous flux is directed at the gap and into an interior of the tubular shape, the tubular shape is caused to pass through a high frequency induction coil to cause heating of the opposing edges of the tubular shape. Pressure is then applied to the tubular shape with weld rolls to force the opposing edges together and form a continuous tubing having a continuous butt weld joint. The weld joint is then quenched with an inert gas without the assistance of a liquid coolant.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2005Date of Patent: July 15, 2008Assignee: Mill Masters, Inc.Inventors: William E. Patent number: 7322918Abstract: The flexible container relating to the present invention comprises a cylindrical member (10) made from flexible film, a bottom plate member (12) which is harder than the flexible film, fitted into the inner side of a first end section of the cylindrical member (10) and fused-bonding airtightly; and a ring member (11) which is harder than the flexible film, fitted into the inner side of a second end section of said cylindrical member (10) and fused-bonding airtightly. According to this flexible container (2), it is possible greatly to reduce the volume of the container after discharging the highly viscous material from the flexible container, and it is possible to achieve small and inexpensive moulds having excellent productivity as moulding equipment for forming the bottom plate member (12) and the ring member (11), thereby achieving benefits in that the price of the equipment can be reduced significantly.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2001Date of Patent: January 29, 2008Assignees: Sunstar Engineering Inc.,, Hosokawa Yoko, Co., Ltd.,, Polymer Systems Co.,Inventors: Masayoshi Matsumura, Tetsuya Katayori, Eiji Hattori
