  • Patent number: 10967534
Abstract: Scrap Scraper technology is an improved Scrap Separation means for separating Loose Scrap from Boxes within a Layboy with minimal, if any, increase in possible Flap bending. A Distinct Intersection Of Action avoids problems inherent in other prior art. A shallow Scraper Funnel while maintaining a steep Scraper Angle Of Action allows effective Scrap Scraping while avoiding Flap bending. The Flexible Scraper results in Active Scrap Ejection of the Loose Scrap from the upper side of the Box down below the Board Line. Means providing the Scrap Scraper Variable Board Line Penetration and Variable Scraper Stiffness allow effective Scrap removal over a wide range of Boxes. Positioning the Scrap Scraper over a Scrap Exit Opening allows the removed Scrap to exit the Board Line area. Scrap shingling provides for subsequent boxes to push down scrap from a current box.

The plate member having a recess formed therein and a bore extending between the inner face and the outer face along an axis at an acute angle to the outer face. A jogger element is positioned within the recess and is movable between a retracted position and an extended position. A fastening element extends through the bore through the plate member and is receivable in a corresponding slot in the outer frame to interconnect the plate member to the outer frame.

Abstract: A presser assembly for supporting blanking scrap during a blanking operation is provided. The presser assembly includes a support rail; a presser rail connected to the support rail; and a connecting rail connecting the presser rail to the support rail and being adapted to pivot with respect to at least one of the support rail and the presser rail through a predetermined pivot angle range for changing a distance between the support rail and the presser rail. By pivoting, one can thereby selectively affect a folding and an unfolding of the presser assembly during a blanking operation.

  • Patent number: 6648808
Abstract: In an apparatus for making plastic bags from a web material comprising two or more layers of plastic film, the material is intermittently fed for a length along a longitudinal feeding path, to successively make plastic bags with wastes, each of the wastes having upstream and downstream edges. The apparatus includes partially cutting means disposed at a first station predetermined along the feeding path. The material is partially cut by the partially cutting means along the upstream and downstream edges of waste whenever intermittently fed and temporarily stopped. The apparatus further includes waste removing means disposed at a second station predetermined downstream of and at a distance from the first station. The waste reaches the second station when the material is intermittently fed again after partially cut by the partially cutting means. In addition, the apparatus includes discharge means disposed at a third station predetermined downstream of and at a distance from the second station.

Abstract: The invention is a moveable presser rail assembly for supporting blanking material during operation of a blanking tool for making packaging blanks. The moveable presser rail assembly includes a mount housing having a cavity that pivotally secures a pivot sleeve, and a guide strut is secured within the pivot sleeve by a spring biasing mechanism so that a fastening end of the guide strut may be rigidly secured to a presser rail. Because the guide strut may pivot within the mount housing, the presser rail may be rigidly secured to the guide strut and still provide reciprocating and non-parallel or limited lateral motion relative to a support plate that supports the mount housing.

Abstract: Methods for setting-up a female blanking die for a die cutting machine for die cutting and/or blanking a carton blank, and universal press frames for use in such setting-up are all provided herein. The first stages in the erection of the female blanking die, which includes a rectangular framework of a front rail, a rear rail and two side rails, involve accurate placement of a template within the rectangular framework. All the rails are provided with a dovetail groove along its inside edges. This is achieved by the use of centre line orientation cylinders on a template, a centre line rod through aligned holes in the centre line orientation cylinders and centre line brackets at the precise centre point of the front and the rear rails. The template is mounted atop the centre line brackets by means of the centre line rod and rests loosely on template corner locking clamps.
