Abstract: A detachable assembly having multiple adjustable components is provided for folding various materials, such as a sheet of disposable wipes. In one embodiment, the assembly includes an attachment bracket configured to detachably connect the assembly to a structural member, a roller, a feeder plate having a return flange, and a folding bracket. In another embodiment, the assembly includes a mounting bracket having at least one hook configured to detachably receive the attachment bracket. In a further embodiment, the feeder plate is formed from two tapered halves which are slideably connected. In use, a material is a fed over the roller, down along the feeder plate, and then forward along the return flange where the folding bracket folds the material inward over the return flange. The user may adjust the position of the feeder plate and the folding bracket to achieve the desired fold width in the material.
Abstract: A method for shaping at least one cardboard cut-out between an inlet position and an outlet position of a shaping station. The method includes a step of using shaping tools on the cardboard cut-out, the tools reciprocatingly moving on either side of the cut-out between a shaping position and a retracted position. The method involves moving the cardboard cut-out by the tools between the inlet position and the outlet position of the shaping station while the cardboard cut-out is being shaped by the tools.

Abstract: A presser assembly for supporting blanking scrap during a blanking operation is provided. The presser assembly includes a support rail; a presser rail connected to the support rail; and at least one connecting rail connecting the presser rail to the support rail. The connecting rail is adapted to pivot with respect to at least one of the support rail and the presser rail through a predetermined pivot angle range for changing a distance between the support rail and the presser rail. By pivoting, a folding and an unfolding of the presser assembly can be affected during a blanking operation.
Abstract: The invention is a moveable presser rail assembly for supporting blanking material during operation of a blanking tool for making packaging blanks. The moveable presser rail assembly includes a mount housing having a cavity that pivotally secures a pivot sleeve, and a guide strut is secured within the pivot sleeve by a spring biasing mechanism so that a fastening end of the guide strut may be rigidly secured to a presser rail. Because the guide strut may pivot within the mount housing, the presser rail may be rigidly secured to the guide strut and still provide reciprocating and non-parallel or limited lateral motion relative to a support plate that supports the mount housing.
Abstract: An existing box-making machine is retrofitted by first removing the pull rolls and impression cylinder and other associated parts and cross-ties. However, the heavy duty side frames and drums, including the print cylinder are left intact in the box-making machine. A vacuum transfer machine is then inserted in the box-making machine and mounted to the existing frame to replace the pull rolls that were removed. The vacuum transfer machine includes a hood enclosure having an impression cylinder for printing, and transport rolls on opposite sides of the impression cylinder for conveying the corrugated boards through the impression and print cylinders and to the die cutter. The boards are held against the transport rolls and the impression cylinder by vacuum generated in a vacuum chamber in the hood which also contains the transport rolls and the impression cylinder. The vacuum chamber contains a plurality of vacuum dampers for controlling the vacuum area in accordance with the size of the boards being processed.

Abstract: In the method for production of scored punched parts from a material sheet by a punching and scoring tool the formation of scores in the material sheet is started before the punching process is initiated. The punching and scoring tool has a carrier board, on the underside of which punching elements and scoring elements are provided, and a punching/scoring plate under the carrier board, in which scoring grooves are formed under the scoring elements. The scoring elements in an initial position, in which the scoring elements and punching elements are arranged at a distance from the punching/scoring plate, project further from the carrier board towards the punching/scoring plate than the punching elements. The scoring elements are also mounted flexibly on the carrier board in the lifting direction.
Abstract: A sideweld bag making machine utilizing a rotary transfer device and wicket conveyer is equipped with screw adjustable transfer wicket pins. The bases for the transfer wicket pins are mounted on a threaded rod having two sections of thread, each of opposite hand. Rotation of this threaded rod affects the separation of the wicket pins. Adjustment of vertical position is accomplished by means of two jacking screws or a screw adjustment in conjunction with a motion limiting rail element.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a device for sidewise shifting and positioning of a tool in a slotting station situated within a machine used for processing sheet-like workpieces. The station includes a creasing tool, a counter tool, which are mounted on a first pair of vertical, arranged horizontally extending shafts, a slotting tool and counterpart, both fitted on a second pair of shafts arranged downstream of the first pair, a master plate being held in the transfer direction of the workpiece by two crosswise shafts, one of which is for guiding and the other is for shifting the master plate on the guiding shift, the plate having an arrangement for gripping each of the upper tools of the pairs of tools, which arrangement includes an arrangement for laterally shifting the arrangement for one of the two tools relative to the master plate while holding the tool simultaneously fully parallel to the master plate.
Abstract: A paper scoring device is on a first rotatable shaft of a pair of rotatable parallel shafts with a cylindrical member on the second shaft with a circular scoring slot around the cylindrical member where the paper is fed between the rotatable shafts. A male scoring device has a cylindrical base member with a shoulder and a cylindrical sleeve threaded onto the base member forming an outwardly open cylindrical groove in which a cylindrical ring member fits and rotates freely. The cylindrical ring is a pair of plastic rings sandwiching a metal ring which extends outwardly past the surface of the plastic rings to form a scoring rib which interfits into the slot to score the paper.
Abstract: The present invention relates to second-fold rollers for a folding device adapted for cutting and folding superposed paper webs into a folded section of superposed sheets. The second-fold rollers are arranged in a pair in parallel each other, at least one of which is provided with at least one of non-contact section so formed as to prevent from contacting with the rear corners of the paper sheet to be passed between these second-fold rollers. The non-contact section is a recess partially formed in its cylindrical surface near each end of the second-fold roller.

An intermediate plate (10) is placed between the carrier plate (5) and the pressure plate (9).

Abstract: A tool support having an arrangement for centering and fixing a tool and a rectangular frame characterized by a pair of pressing members mounted on adjacent sides of the frame and an arrangement to urge the pressing members away from their adjacent frame members so that a tool is moved diagonally toward an opposite corner of the frame. Preferably, one of the pressing members has a slanted plane end surface forming a cam surface which is engaged by a roller mounted on the other pressing member so that movement of the other pressing member is transferred to the one pressing member. The mounting arrangement also includes a tightening arrangement to bias the pressing members away from the adjacent side members of the frame.
