With Means For Exchanging Heat Patents (Class 494/13)
  • Patent number: 4531932
Abstract: The device comprises a single needle circuit having lines for admitting whole blood drawn from a patient to a continuously rotating rotor, re-introducing red cells and collecting plasma, the lines being respectively connected to the three outlets of a coupling static block rigidly attached to the rotor, two photocell-lightsource assemblies being further provided for automatically cyclically switching over the blood pick up and red cells introduction steps in the device steady state condition of operation.

  • Patent number: 4512758
Abstract: A thermoelectric temperature control assembly for transferring heat to or from a heat sink. A nonconducting substrate is provided with a plurality of mounting openings for receiving the mounting features of a plurality of respective thermoelectric devices. Each mounting openings is internally partitioned so as to form a pair of flexible tongues by which the thermoelectric devices may be clamped to a heat sink to assure a good thermal contact therewith.

  • Patent number: 4498896
Abstract: A heatable centrifuge is formed of a rotor rotatable about a central axis. The rotor includes a dish shaped portion concentric to the central axis and a jacket portion extending upwardly from the outer peripheral edge of the dish shaped portion and disposed in parallel with the central axis. Preferably, the dish shaped portion is formed of an electrically insulating and heat insulating ceramic material and the jacket portion is formed of a high strength electrically conductive material. Sample containers are symmetrically arranged with the rotor supported with an insert within the jacket portion. Conductive heating members, such as electro-magnets, are arranged about the outer surface of the jacket portion for transmitting heat through the jacket portion to the material being centrifuged.

  • Patent number: 4412865
Abstract: A device for separating a filler mass into solid and liquid components and, in particular, for converting a highly viscous sugar filler mass into sugar crystals and molasses, includes a centrifuge, a dosaging device for feeding the filler mass and a device for heating the filler mass immediately before centrifuging. The invention is characterized by the fact that the device for heating the filler mass is a high frequency heating device.
