  • Patent number: 8961054
Abstract: A non-drip applicator that allows easy lubrication and seasoning of barbecue grilling grates or griddle cooking surfaces in an easy, fire safe, and efficient manner is described and claimed. The tool includes a body, an applicator, and, optionally, an irrigation system. The applicator may retain a supply of cooking oil therein, or cooking oil may be transferred to the applicator via the irrigation system. The application of pressure to the applicator by pressing it against the grill cooking elements causes cooking oil to be transferred from the applicator to the cooking elements. The applicator may be rotatably connected to the tool body, allowing the user to oil the grill by rolling the applicator along the grill cooking elements.

Abstract: A plate type rotational centrifugal separator for separating one or more components of a feed stream includes a rotatable first outer carrier and a rotatable second inner carrier coaxially arranged in the first outer carrier. The first outer carrier supports one or more curved plates which are flexibly connected to the second inner carrier. A feeding arrangement disposed at one end of the separator supplies a feed stream to be separated, and a discharging arrangement disposed at the opposite end of the separator discharges separated streams. Confined spaces are defined between adjacent curved plates and the first outer and second inner carrier for separating the feed stream under influence of centrifugal forces. The first outer carrier is axially removable from the second inner carrier for removing components collected on the plates.

  • Patent number: 7901343
Abstract: The present invention provides a self-cleaning drying centrifuge for removing fluid from a concentrated particulate-filled fluid and peeling mostly dried particulate (solid) material from the centrifuge. In some embodiments, a high-efficiency centrifuge performs an initial separation and concentration of small particles from a contaminated fluid, and outputs a clarified fluid for reuse, and periodically purges concentrated particulates with high fluid content. The purged concentrate is then fed into the present invention's drying centrifuge, which substantially reduces the remaining fluid content. In some embodiments, the drying centrifuge is periodically stopped and one or more internal blades (peelers) are rotated around the inner wall of the drying centrifuge bowl to peel the accumulated solids, which drop into a collection container.

At least one magnet is carried by the housing and is rotatable therewith to create a magnetic field within the housing with the magnetic lines of force carried around the axis of rotation during rotation of the housing. The mixture is retained in each sub-chamber during housing rotation so as to stabilize the mixture and rotate it together with the housing. Housing scrapers face the inside surface of the housing to remove from that surface material which is attracted to the magnet. This action tends to draw the molecules of the mixture into alignment with the rotating lines of force thereby polarizing the molecules and decreasing molecular bonding. The centrifugal action causes the polarized molecules with decreased bonding, to move apart with the heavier molecules moving radially outwards further from the lighter molecules.

The cylinder 301 is also subjected to axial vibration at 5 to 10 Hz. The cylinder widens at a half-angle of 1.degree., and its axis is inclined at 2.degree. upwardly in the direction of widening. A film of slurry is held centrifugally to the internal surface of the cylinder and kept in suspension by the vibration. The denser (i.e. higher specific gravity) particles in the slurry tend to move preferentially radially outwardly (centrifugally) and to move downwardly in the boundary layer (under Earth's gravity). The action of the washing water B is to displace waste accidentally entrained with the higher-specific-gravity-particles. The valuable higher-specific-gravity particles overflow downwardly continuously at C and are collected.

  • Patent number: 4617010
Abstract: An apparatus for partial dehydration of a sludge in the centrifugal field of a centrifuge wherein the residual moisture of the sludge is substantially reduced with a comparatively low compression of the sludge, and the non-effective cone length of the centrifuge is reduced without shortening the sludge dwell time. The invention includes an arrangement of agitator elements within the centrifugal drum, coupled with a following shearing centrifuge and decanter, the shearing centrifuge being connected at the discharge of the centrifugal drum.

  • Patent number: 4449967
Abstract: The blade of a helical screw conveyor of centrifuge apparatus is improved to reduce the amount of torque required in operating the apparatus as well as to produce discharged solids drier than the solids discharged using a conventional blade; the improvement provides that the distal end of the leading surface of the blade at or adjacent at least the trunco-conical end of the centrifuge bowl have a generally arcuate configuration concave in the direction of the solids discharge port such that the more distal blade portions peel the separated solids material from the bowl wall with minimum torque requirements, while the less distal arcuate portions tumble the solids to reduce the moisture content. Typically, the blade's arcuate leading surface is formed by add-on, wear-resistant members attached to a backing plate which in turn is mounted on the leading surface of the blade.
