Patent number: 6889396Abstract: A mattress clip is provided which, when used in pairs, secures a mattress to an adjustable bed to prevent the mattress from sliding off leg, thigh, hip and back supports of the adjustable bed. Two clips are secured to the thigh support in cantilever fashion with opposing free ends projecting toward each other and being received in axial open ends of a tube sewn to a cover of the mattress. Though limited transverse and longitudinal motion of the mattress relative to the leg, thigh, hip and back supports can take place during adjusting movements of the adjustable bed, the mattress is precluded from excessive shifting and cannot inadvertently or accidentally slide off the supports. Each mattress clip includes elongated openings through which bolts are passed for reception in aligned openings of the thigh support to permit limited transverse adjustment of the mattress clips.Type: GrantFiled: January 3, 2003Date of Patent: May 10, 2005Assignee: L&P Property Management CompanyInventor: Adam Michael Weinman

Patent number: 6877177Abstract: A bedding foundation is manufactured with a cover having a welt cord extending upwardly to create a seal when a mattress is placed on the foundation. The cover is made using a two stage process. During the first stage a sewing machine is used to join a welt cord to a web of border material. In the second stage a second sewing machine sews a piece of non-skid decking to the border assembly. Fullness may be incorporated into the border material to enable the cover to fit around the corners of the bedding foundation with the welt cord being spaced inwardly from the perimeter of the foundation.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2004Date of Patent: April 12, 2005Assignee: L&P Property Management CompanyInventor: Steven Marcangelo

Patent number: 5941264Abstract: A portable bivouac shelter (10) is provided having an end pole (48) retaining on the top sheet (12) through a tunnel (46) for holding the top sheet (12) in a taught and semi-circular configuration. This permits the top sheet (12) to be held away from the bottom sheet (14) in an open configuration for enhanced ventilation. A top pole (54) is also provided across the top sheet 12 near the head end (20). The top pole (54) cooperates with the flexible end pole (48) to form a sloped roof over a user's head and to hold the top and bottom sheets (12) and (14) in a selected degree of an open configuration. Optional mounting snaps (62) in the interior (24) of the enclosure (18) enable a user to reconfigure the opening (26) without leaving the interior (24) of the shelter (10). The shelter (10) thus provides enhanced ventilation while the sloped roof formed by the top pole (54) prevents the entry of precipitation into the enclosure (18). Optional mosquito netting (32) is zippered on the interior of the opening (26).Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 1997Date of Patent: August 24, 1999Inventor: Ron Gregg
