Abstract: The abrupt cessation or run-away of a combustion engine may damage the combustion engine and pose a safety hazard to the surrounding environment. The combustion engine operational mode may be controlled, regulated or maintained by regulating the combustion mixture of the combustion engine. The oxidizer flow, a material or both of the combustion mixture may be regulate to create or form a combustion material that is outside a combustible range such that the combustion engine is placed or maintained in a spin-down operational mode. The material added to the combustion mixture may include a combustible, non-combustible, oxidizer, or exhaust material. A brake may also provide a secondary mechanism to maintain or place the combustion engine in a spin-down mode.

Abstract: An exercise mat having storage and transportation features is provided. The mat has a first strap having first and second ends is attached to the bottom face of the mat. A pocket is defined between a middle section of the first strap and the bottom face of the mat. A second strap having first and second ends is attached to the bottom face of the mat adjacent the first strap. A loop is defined by a middle section of the second strap between the first and second attached ends. The mat is capable of being rolled into a rolled configuration, and wherein the loop is sized and shaped such that in the rolled configuration the loop can wrap around the rolled mat and through the pocket to form a cinch, and loop is capable of being used to carry the mat.

Abstract: A pole vault pit construction that is formed of multiple resilient foam blocks that are secured in a unitary manner and wherein thee construction is comprised of a front cutout section defining a recess for receiving a pole engager, said front cutout section having an open front end and an inner end, and a contiguous rear landing section. The plurality of foam blocks of the front cutout section include at least one pair of opposed position blocks each having a tapered surface commencing from the upper surface downwardly to the lower surface and in a direction toward the opposed position block so that a cross-section of the recess is essentially trapezoidal. The rear landing section includes at least a center foam block having an uninterrupted tapered surface commencing from the upper surface downwardly to the lower surface and in a direction toward the open front end of the recess.
Abstract: The calf-stretching device is a mechanical apparatus. The calf-stretching device is configured for use by a patient. The calf-stretching device is configured for use in exercise. The patient uses the calf-stretching device to stretch the calf as a part of an exercise program. The calf-stretching device comprises a foot bed and a supporting structure. The supporting structure holds the foot bed at a stretch angle. The supporting structure is a rotating structure. The foot of the patient rests on the foot bed during use of the calf-stretching device. The foot rotates the supporting structure to vary the stretch angle of the foot bed during use of the calf-stretching device. The orientation of the foot bed within the supporting structure is adjustable such that the range of the stretch angle available to the patient over the exercise period can be adjusted.
Abstract: A modular, deformable, repositionable, cushioned gentle cushioned, resistive infant positioning system and method for use with infants is provided that includes first and second tubular pillows each having two longitudinally-elongated chambers adjoined at a first and second pillow lateral flexure-enabling element, respectively, and a third compact pillow. The second tubular pillow is preferably wider than the first tubular pillow and includes two straps. Methods of using the three pillows of the cushioned, resistive infant positioning system are presented that provide positioning, calming, and/or the prevention and/or the correction of head shape deformations.

Abstract: A foam mattress in which a layer of latex or latex-like foam placed above a layer of memory foam is described. This construction of the mattress provides the contouring pressure relief that a visco-elastic foam provides with a top surface with quick recovery (a latex-like “bounce”) that prevents people from getting “stuck” in the visco-elastic foam and improves the springiness of the mattress. The mattress may also include straps and cinches to aid in transportation of the mattress. The mattress may also include removable covers that aid in keeping the mattress clean.

The device includes a cover having a front face, a back face, and a perimeter edge extending around and between the front face and the back face. A bag is coupled to and extends from the perimeter edge of the cover. The bag has a peripheral edge defining an opening into an interior space of the bag. The cover is selectively positionable to occupy the interior space of the bag. A flap is coupled to the peripheral edge of the bag and is selectively extendable over the opening of the bag. A resilient member is coupled to the flap extending around a free edge of the flap. The resilient member engages the cover and the bag inhibiting the cover from coming out of the interior space of the bag.
Abstract: An under mattress support to extend the longevity of an existing mattress that may include areas that are concave resulting in sag areas or soft areas comprising a plurality of heavy duty elongated polyurethane foam slats, enclosed in top and bottom pliable fabric covers that are stitched together along each slat lateral side but spaced apart by pliable fabric strips in a parallel slat array. The fabric strip spacing of the parallel foam slats allows for lateral compression to enhance support. The under mattress support is positioned below the mattress and above a box spring with the elongated polyurethane foam slats extended longitudinally from a portion of one side of the mattress to a portion of the other side of the mattress where the concave portion of a sagging or soft mattress appears in the normal course of use.
Abstract: A buoyant, submersible chair that is comprised of a framework of buoyant foam tube sections and a support assembly of rope and buoyant foam tube sections that may be broken down into smaller units that is used to float a user in a body of water. The present invention is lightweight, buoyant, adjustable for personal preference of flotation and comfort, and can be carried on the back in a way that is similar to a back-pack. The present invention is proposed in several different embodiments, each style having numerous seating positions.
Abstract: Portable cushions include first and second portions that may be folded relative to one another between a folded state in which the cushion may be carried by a user and an unfolded state in which the cushion may be used to cushion the body of a person or another object. Each of the first and second portions of the cushion includes deformable wall members that are located and configured to define voids therebetween, such that the deformable wall members may be displaced into adjacent voids upon deformation of the deformable wall members during cushioning. Methods of manufacturing such portable cushions include the formation of such first and second portions of a cushion.

The base sheet and the glide sheet each have a tether strap, and the tether straps are configured to be connected together to secure the glide sheet in place. Abstract: A pillow and play mat assembly comprising an infant support pillow with an attached activity or play mat. The pillow includes a bolster surrounding a recessed central well. The mat includes a padded panel with a flexible bumper. The bumper is repositionable so that it can extend from the panel upwardly or downwardly. In the fully deployed or play mode, the play mat extends sidewardly from the support pillow and the bumper extends upwardly to enclose the play area defined by the mat. In the stowed or carrying mode, the play mat is folded under the support pillow and the bumper is inverted to at least partially enclose the side of the pillow. In an intermediate position, the play mat is folded under the pillow and the bumper extends downwardly to slightly elevate the pillow.
Abstract: The invention involves a folding patient transfer apparatus with a material top layer and a material bottom layer. A plurality of inserts has handhold openings that are formed in the inserts that are positioned between the material top layer and the material bottom layer utilizing a sewn plurality of insert seams. The seams form enclosed material chambers containing the inserts. The materials can be disposed of due to contamination; however the inserts can be sterilized reducing hospital waste and cost. The apparatus is configured to slide and/or lift and/or carry a patient from a non-planer surface to a second planer or non-planer surface.
Abstract: A mat, such as an exercise, sleep, or floor mat comprising at least one electrically conductive member that traverses the mat, forming an electrically conductive connection between the upper and lower surfaces of the mat. This conductive connection allows a user to be electrically grounded when using the mat on a grounded surface. Abstract: The present invention discloses a device that is comprised of a flexible material and a roll mechanism associated with the flexible material. A bistable resilient member maintains the flexible material flat due to a tension force within the body of the bistable resilient member in a first stable state, and maintains the flexible material to a rolled-up, bundled closed position after the tension force within the body of the bistable resilient member is fully released (the second stable state). Further, the bistable resilient member compels the flexible material to a self-roll-up motion (during a transition state) while a tension force within the body of the bistable resilient member is released.

Abstract: A multipurpose mat including: a first side made from a water-resistant material; a second side fixedly secured to the first side and made from an absorbent material; a plurality of first straps fixedly secured to the first side; and a plurality of second straps fixedly secured to the second side. The first and second sides form a perimeter including first and second protrusions with a recess between the first and second protrusions. Respective straps in the plurality of first straps are connectable to each other or to another strap in the plurality of first straps. Abstract: A diaper changing system utilizes a diaper holder member on which a diaper is to be positioned. Flaps extend outward from the holder member and are foldable over the diaper to maintain it in position on the holder member. The system also includes a unique baby supporting pad configured to be placed on the user's lap. The supporting pad can be utilized to maintain a diaper or in combination with the holder member supporting the diaper. A strap circumscribes the leg of the user to maintain the holder member and supporting pad on the user's leg. Once the supporting pad and/or the holding member, with diaper attached, is secured on the user's leg, the baby is placed on the diaper. The diaper is then wrapped around the baby and secured. The baby is removed from the system's components, which are then folded and compacted for storage and transport.
Abstract: A new orthopedic prayer mat proposed, whereas the new orthopedic prayer mat has a multiple layered structure. The top layer is made from microfiber which is antimicrobial, anti-molding, water-resistant, anti-dust and heat-resistant. The bottom layer is an anti-slip layer to prevent the user from physical injury in any situation while using the mat, and a soft polyurethane layer and an anti-fatigue layer or a hard polyurethane layer are arranged between the top microfiber layer and the bottom anti-slip layer in order to absorb pressure pressure and providing support, and the soft and hard polyurethane layer are combined at an angle to adjust the ratio of the weight-absorption and bearing to form the orthopedic prayer mat. Further the angle between the layers is tailored for users according to user's weight, height, body structure type and healthy conditions.
Abstract: A diaper changing station assembly includes a mat that has a top side, a bottom side and a peripheral edge. The peripheral edge includes a front side, a back side, a first lateral side and a second lateral side. A top pad is attached to and covers a portion of the top side. A bottom pad has a top surface, a bottom surface and a peripheral edge. The bottom surface is attached to and covers a portion of the bottom side. A portion of the bottom pad is unattached to the mat adjacent to the peripheral edge to define a bag pocket extending between the mat and the bottom pad. The bag is removable from the pocket after the soiled diaper is changed to receive the mat. The bag is configured to receive the soiled diaper for disposal of the mat and the soiled diaper.
Abstract: Sleeping pad systems are disclosed that include a foldable pad having a length and a width when in an extended position, with the foldable pad having a plurality of spaced apart panels covered and connected by a liner, and with the systems including a blanket having a width that is greater than the width of the foldable pad and a first end that is configured to be removably connected to a first end of the foldable pad. The systems may be compressed to a fraction of their folded size. The systems also may include a bag configured to receive the blanket and foldable pad, such as for use in stowing, carrying and/or transporting the foldable pad and blanket alone or in combination with other items.
Abstract: A hygienic bench towel for covering an exercise bench before a user sits on the bench to protect the user from sweat, germs and contamination left by a previous user. The bench towel has a semi rigid handle which enables a user to move the towel form one bench to another without touching the contaminated side of the towel. Another advantage provided by the handle is that the user always knows which side of the towel should be placed against the workout bench The towel is provided with spaced apart tabs at that end of the towel which is draped over the back of the bench to allow the towel to conform to framework which may be present at the center of the back of the bench. The handle is located on the towel so that the tabs don't become contaminated when the towel is moved using the handle. When the user is finished with the towel, the user folds the towel using the uncontaminated tabs and places the towel in a bag for transport to laundry services.

Abstract: Embodiments of an assembly, including an exercise mat and an absorbent fabric layer, such as a towel, are generally described herein. In one example, an exercise mat is configured for temporary coupling to a towel using corresponding mating components including dual-purpose snap fastener portions respectively affixed to a top surface of the exercise mat and a bottom surface of the towel. The snap fastener portions can be positioned at the corners or sides of the exercise mat and the towel to provide secure usage of the assembly during exercise activity. The exercise mat can include an additional set of mating components including snap fastener portions located on a bottom surface. The additional set of snap fastener portions can be configured to mate with one or more of the snap fastener portions affixed to the top surface of the exercise mat when the exercise mat is oriented into a rolled-up, folded or other compact configuration.
Abstract: A dual layer inflatable sleeping pad has an upper inflatable layer coupled to a lower inflatable layer. The dual-layer sleeping pad has an inflation valve for the lower layer and a second inflation valve for the upper layer. These valves are in fluid communication with their respective layer, thereby allowing air to travel in and out of each layer as needed. Each layer is independent from one another and the inflation level of each layer can be independently adjusted.

Abstract: A protective pad for infants and toddlers to lie upon when away from home comprises a large rectangular textile assembly similar in size to a beach towel having a water-resistant bottom surface, a comfortable inner layer of foam rubber, and a top layer of soft fabric. The top layer is held in place via a perimeter zipper which enables removal and laundering thereof. The pad is provided with a raised foam rubber edge to serve as a barrier to dirt and debris. The pad may be folded up compactly and secured using hook-and-loop-type fasteners and transported or attached to a stroller using a pair of carrying handles. The pad also provides an on-board stake-style umbrella to provide shade for an occupying infant or toddler at park or beach settings.
Abstract: A portable, foldable yoga mat/meditation mat includes a plurality of linear indentations so that the mat can be folded into various sizes and used in various aspects. For example, when the mat is unfolded along all linear indentations (i.e., in a completely unfolded state), the mat could be used as a typical yoga mat. When the mat is folded along some but not all linear indentations, the mat could be used as a comfortable meditation or sitting mat. When the mat is folded along all linear indentations, the folded mat becomes a portable sized block which can be easily carried in either customized or non-customized carriers and conveniently stored with other regular shaped items.

Abstract: A quilt-style sleeping bag including clip, buckles, snaps, hook and loop material, buttons or any other suitable attachment means secured with the bag proximate the left and right longitudinal edges of the bag that are adapted to cooperatively couple with a cord, strap, string, rope or cable (hereafter collectively referred to as “cords”) that extends widthwise across a sleeping pad is described. A system and method for ordering the seating pad assembly for a transportation seat includes at least one terminal configured for entering an identifier indicative of a type of transportation seat purchased, e.g., a class of service; a server configured for receiving the identifier, determining dimensions of the seating pad assembly based on the identifier, and generating an order to acquire the determined seating pad assembly; and a communications network for coupling the at least one terminal and the server. The terminal may be configured in the form of a computer, a kiosk or a mobile terminal. The system will allow a purchaser of a transportation seat to either purchase or rent the seating pad assembly.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a foam pad containing far-infrared and/or ion generating particles and method for producing such foam material. The method for producing the foam pad consists of mixing fine particles of a far-infrared and/or ion emitting stone into the base material prior to further processing such as forming, molding or extruding the material. Alternatively, the fine particles of far-infrared and/or ion generating stone may be mixed with an adhesive and used as a coating on the foam pad. The stone generating far-infrared radiation and/or ions is preferably from the group consisting of tourmaline, granite porphyry, quartz porphyry, zeolite, perlite, serpentine, or mixture thereof.

The beach towel apparatus also comprises reflective zippered pouches at each corner position that provide storage of personal items as well as aiding in identifying the towel from a distance. The corner pouches may also be loaded with sand or weights to provide additional anchoring.
