    Abstract: A pillow in the present invention may include a main pillow body and a neck support. The main pillow body may include three sections: a head support section and a pair of lateral support sections; and the shape of the main pillow body resembles a reverse letter “U.” In an exemplary embodiment, each lateral support section extends from the main pillow body with an enlarging rear end, and the length of lateral support sections is designed to be slightly longer than conventional pillows, so that the pillow would be long and wide enough to support the user's shoulders, no matter which rest position the user adopts. Also, the rear ends of the lateral support sections are thicker by inserting more stuffing materials inside to provide better lateral support to the user when he/she rests on the side during sleep.

The contoured pillowcase can be made of materials including cotton, satin, water resistant fabric, etc. The pillow insert is generally rectangular in shape with a U-shaped offset cutout along one side that can be rotated to accommodate a variety of sleeping and resting positions. The pillow insert can be filled with an array of soft loose fill including polyester fill, down, down alternative, wool, etc.

The bag can be removed from the interior and pulled over the pillow to form a carrying bag. Pouches are retained at the interior of the pillow body and can extend outward from the body. The pouches can fill with fillable material from the interior of the pillow body, allowing the firmness of the pillow to be adjusted. In addition, the legs can then be pushed together so that the pillow can be used as a more traditional pillow rested against a surface.
