  • Patent number: 7017210
Abstract: A bedplate is disposed in a bed frame. The bedplate includes a fixed bed part, right leg-raising parts and left leg-raising parts. The fixed bed parts are secured to the bed frame. The right leg-raising parts are rotatably coupled, at one end, to one end of the fixed bed part. The left leg-raising parts are rotatably coupled, at one end, to the end of the fixed bed part. Said ends of the fixed bed part are spaced in the transverse direction of the bed frame. A bed part driving mechanism is provided on the lower surface of the bedplate. The mechanism drives one or both of the leg-raising parts of either pair, in a rising direction.

  • Patent number: 6675415
Abstract: A hospital bed adapted for use with an open geometry imaging system, such as a C-arm imager, is provided. The hospital bed includes a mobile base, a frame, a bed top, and a patient support. At least one portion of the bed top and patient support are substantially radiotransparent. The radiotransparent portions are capable of axial displacement along the lengthwise axis of the bed, thereby allowing the use of an imager on a patient in the bed without interference from the base. The axial displacement is preferably indexed to at least one predetermined stop position. One or more independent lateral sections can be selectively moved away from the radiotransparent portion, allowing for a reduction in the overall width of the bed. A patient transport system is also provided, in which the bed top and attached patient support can be used as a portable support, such as a stretcher, and may be secured to the base for subsequent transport and/or imaging when appropriate.

  • Patent number: 5826286
Abstract: A veterinary surgical table is provided which includes a top animal-supporting surface mounted for inclining and supported by at least one extensible rod which provides counterbalancing support for the weight of the top surface and an animal placed thereon. The top surface is preferably longitudinally bifurcated into two pivotally mounted sections to provide independent tilting of each section toward one another, each section being separately counterbalanced by an extensible rod for such tilting movement. The top surface is preferably supported by the extensible rods in strut-supported configuration for minimizing the framework for supporting the table. A slidably removable tray is mounted beneath the separation between the sections for receiving fluid runoff and for enhanced cleaning and sanitation.
