Patent number: 10918222Abstract: In one example, we describe a method and system for infant's development, which is a disc system, with various combinations and extensions. The brain is the only organ that constantly reorganizes itself based on experiences or lack thereof. Babies are born with millions of neurons. Through a process called “pruning”, certain ‘circuits’ are fine-tuned through repeated practice and stimulation. This occurs from birth, throughout early childhood. The purpose of the SensiMo Disc is to provide an infant, e.g., typically, up to the 25 lbs. and/or 29 inches long, sensorimotor stimulation, while lying in a prone or supine position, with minimal active movement of the head or extremities. As the child lays supine or proneon, on the SensiMo disc, the child's tactile, vestibular, and proprioceptive systems are stimulated. This helps develop the child's sensorimotor system. Many other variations and combinations, plus advantages, are discussed.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2017Date of Patent: February 16, 2021Inventor: Sharon Galitzer

Patent number: 6964071Abstract: A bassinet support unit receives a tub-shaped bassinet. C-shaped hook elements mounted on the respective ends the bassinet are each configured to receive a corresponding elongate support rod that extends across a respective end of the bassinet support unit. The selected C-shaped hook element receives the corresponding support rod and thus inclines the bassinet with respect to a flat substantially horizontal planar top piece of the bassinet support unit. When an at least partially upward force is applied to the bassinet a lower end portion of the C-shaped hook element then receives a part of the support rod. The lower end portion then prevents upward movement of the bassinet and/or limits rotative movement of the bassinet about a longitudinal axis thereof. In some embodiments a pair of J-shaped hook element having openings facing each other can be utilized.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2004Date of Patent: November 15, 2005Assignee: Stryker CorporationInventor: Dennis W. Publication number: 20040099301Abstract: A cover for the protection of an infant comprises a central hub member which is pivotally connected at one end to an extendable and collapsible support frame made up of link arms and pivotally, flexible connected frame ribs. The ribs reside in channels in an exterior surface covering of mesh cloth or transparent or opaque material. The hub member is connected, at its other end, to a string-like line which extends through an opening on the top of the cover. The line is attached to a handle. With the cover in a collapsed position, the handle is pulled upwards, which causes the attached line and the hub to move upward. This results in the link arms pivoting the frame ribs outward and upward. Upon continued pulling on the handle, the hub is pulled into and secured within the opening, causing the frame and surface covering to become fully extended. The cover forming the resulting enclosed space is lightweight and can readily be secured to a crib or simply placed on a bed, the ground, or other unprotected area.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 26, 2002Publication date: May 27, 2004Inventors: Mei Zhang, Sun Hua Wen, Bian Hung Li

Patent number: 6131217Abstract: A method of converting a canopy crib to a standard crib, particularly useful for cribs made of wood. A canopy assembly is removably connected on top of a crib assembly. The canopy assembly has a number of canopy legs that removably fit over and cover respective supports on the crib assembly. The canopy assembly may be removed by pulling the canopy legs off the supports to expose the supports and then separately covering the supports with caps. In a particular embodiment, the canopy crib has a pair of movable side members opposite each other, a pair of angled rods extending vertically through on either side of each one of the movable side members is used to secure a respective pair of caps to their respective supports. Each rod has an end portion which is fastened to an adjacent cap and support to secure the cap, in a rotation free manner, to the support. The same mechanism may also be used to secure the canopy leg to the support.Type: GrantFiled: January 27, 1999Date of Patent: October 17, 2000Inventor: Jean Kasem
