Abstract: In a heat-sensitive and heat-transferable recording sheet comprising a substrate, a heat-sensitive, color-forming layer provided on the front side of said substrate and a heat-transferable layer provided on the back side of said substrate, background fogging can be prevented by allowing the heat-transferable layer to be composed essentially of an electron-donating colorless dye, an electron-accepting compound, a low-melting substance and a desensitizer.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a biocapsule comprising a microorganism and useful substances captured by said microorganism and confined therein. This biocapsule has applications such as heat-sensitive recording papers and the like.
Abstract: Disclosed is a pressure sensitive manifold paper prepared by coating a substrate with a coating composition containing microcapsules of polyurethane resin or polyurea resin wall film and drying the resulting coating, the pressure sensitive manifold paper being characterized in that a latex of copolymer of comonomers comprising about 10 to about 50% by weight of styrene, about 15 to about 55% by weight of butadiene, about 10 to about 40% by weight of methyl methacrylate and up to about 15% by weight of acrylonitrile is incorporated in the coating composition in an amount of about 5 to about 30% by weight (calculated as solids) based on the microcapsules (calculated as solids). The pressure sensitive manifold paper has an adequate balance between the color forming ability and susceptibility to color smudges due to contact or friction.

Abstract: A heat-sensitive recording material comprising a support having provided thereon a heat-sensitive recording layer, the heat-sensitive recording layer containing a diazo compound encapsulated in microcapsules and a component capable of undergoing a color forming reaction with said diazo compound, wherein a protective coating layer containing as a binder a modified polyvinyl alcohol containing silicon atoms, and at least one of colloidal silica and amorphous silica is applied on the surface of the heat-sensitive recording layer.
Abstract: A recording material is described, containing (A) an electron-donating colorless dye and (B) an electron-accepting compound, wherein the electron-accepting compound is a compound represented by formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group, or an aryloxyalkyl group, Y.sup.1 is an alkyl group, an alkoxyl group, a halogen atom, or a hydrogen atom, and m is 0, 1 or 2.
Abstract: A self-contained type pressure sensitive record sheet prepared by coating a substrate with a mixture of microcapsules containing a color former and an inorganic solid acid as a color acceptor and drying the resulting coating, the mixture containing 10 to 30% by weight of polyvinyl alcohol based on the weight of the inorganic solid acid.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a recording paper which is partially pressure-sensitized, comprising microcapsules containing a solution of a colorless color former, sheet material and binder, the microcapsules being fixed to a specified part of a surface of the sheet material via the binder painted on the specified part and majority of the fixed microcapsules having at least a part of the microcapsule exposed to outside of the binder, and a process for producing the recording paper which is partially specified.
Abstract: A thermally-sensitive color-forming composition is disclosed which comprises chromogenic material and certain acidic developer material. Record material comprising this color-forming composition exhibits greatly improved background coloration.
Abstract: Disclosed is a heat-sensitive color-forming recording material which comprises a recording layer comprising a particulate phenolic color developer and a particulate leuco pigment, which are dispersed in a binder independently from each other, wherein the phenolic color developer and/or leuco pigment is present in the form of compatible solid particles with a substantially inactive organic solid medium having a melting or softening point lower than that of the phenolic color developer and/or leuco pigment and said organic solid medium is present in said compatible solid particles in an amount .[.2 to 250 times as large as.]. .Iadd.of 0.2 to 250% by weight, based on .Iaddend.the amount of the phenolic color developer and/or leuco pigment on the weight base. This heat-sensitized color-forming recording material is highly sensitive without substantial increase of the fog density.
