Patent number: 9944944Abstract: This invention includes a novel aad-12 transformation event for herbicide tolerance in soybean plants—referred to herein as pDAB4468-0416. This invention includes a heterologous polynucleotide inserted into a specific site within the genome of a soybean cell. In some embodiments, said event/polynucleotide can be “stacked” with other traits, including, for example, other herbicide tolerance gene(s) and/or insect-inhibitory proteins. Additionally, the subject invention provides assays for detecting the presence of the subject event in a sample (a soybean, for example). The assays can be based on the DNA sequence of the recombinant construct, inserted into the soybean genome, and on the genomic sequences flanking the insertion site. Kits and conditions useful in conducting the assays are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2010Date of Patent: April 17, 2018Assignee: Dow AgroSciences LLCInventors: Yunxing C. Publication number: 20120312888Abstract: An improved thin invert composition and method for applying agricultural products to a target area with minimal drift or evaporation is disclosed, based on a water and oil mixture which is emulsified by minimal agitation so as to provide a low viscosity emulsion. The emulsion, when sprayed through small spray orifices (e.g., 0.020 inch internal diameter) forms a thin invert wherein the water phase is enclosed in the oil phase and the droplet size is small (e.g., 1000 microns mean diameter) and uniform. The water phase carries a hydrophilic active agricultural product.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 7, 2012Publication date: December 13, 2012Inventor: Roy R. Johnson

Publication number: 20110107455Abstract: The subject invention relates to a novel gene referred to herein as DSM-2. This gene was identified in Sterptomyces coelicolor A3. The DSM-2 protein is distantly related to PAT and BAR. The subject invention also provides plant-optimized genes encoding DSM-2 proteins, DSM-2 can be used as a transgenic trait to impart tolerance in plants and plant cells to the herbicides glufosinate and bialaphos. One preferred use of the subject genes are as selectable markers. The use of this gene as a selectable marker in a bacterial system can increase efficiency for plant transformations. Use of DSM-2 as the sole selection marker eliminates the need for an additional medicinal antibiotic marker (such as ampicillin resistance) during cloning. Various other uses are also possible according to the subject invention.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 7, 2007Publication date: May 5, 2011Applicant: Dow AgroSciences LLCInventors: Justin M. Publication number: 20020160916Abstract: The invention pertains to new composition and a method for increasing the solubility of various agricultural compounds in water at a low pH. The compounds included in this patent are typically not soluble at pH ranges less than 7 to produce commercially viable liquid concentrates. This method requires the use of amine-containing surfactants and organic acids to lower the pH of various compounds and also keep them soluble in water.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 20, 2002Publication date: October 31, 2002Inventors: Greg Volgas, Johnnie R. Patent number: 5580841Abstract: Disclosed are solid, phytoactive, N-phosphonomethyl-N-carboxymethyl compositions. Also disclosed are processes for the preparation of such compositions by(a) forming an initial mixture comprising a phytoactive N-phosphonomethyl-N-carboxymethyl compound, a solvent and a molten surfactant, the surfactant being solid at ambient temperatures;(b) removing solvent from the initial mixture to form a final mixture at a temperature above the melting point of the surfactant;(c) cooling the final mixture to a temperature below the melting point of the surfactant to form a N-phosphonomethyl-N-carboxymethyl composition which is solid at ambient temperatures; and(d) processing said composition into particulate form, such as pellets, flakes, granules, or powders.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1994Date of Patent: December 3, 1996Assignee: Zeneca LimitedInventors: Jimmy H.
