Patent number: 9006157Abstract: Disclosed herein are silicone wax emulsions and methods of manufacturing the same. One method of manufacturing silicone wax emulsions as disclosed herein comprises charging alpha-olefins of C-18 or greater chain length to a heating and mixing vessel along with undecylenic acid and blocking the carboxylic acid of the undecylenic acid with a compound containing a trimethylsilyl group by adding the compound in sufficient quantity and heating as a melt until blocking is complete. While maintaining a melt temperature, a silicone polymer containing methyl hydrogen siloxy units is added, followed by a hydrosilation reaction catalyst to effect a hydrosilation reaction. This results in an acid functional silicone polymer. The acid functional silicone polymer is combined with an emulsifier, and the molten combination is added to a stirred solution of alkaline agent and water that has been heated to a temperature above the silicone wax melting point. This process produces silicone wax emulsions with excellent qualities.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2010Date of Patent: April 14, 2015Assignee: Genesee Polymers Corp.Inventor: Charles Piskoti

The composition is drastically increased in shelf stability at room temperature, easy to handle, and provides for good heat dissipation.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2008Date of Patent: August 31, 2010Assignee: Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.Inventors: Nobuaki Matsumoto, Kunihiro Yamada, Kei Miyoshi, Ikuo Sakurai, Kenichi Isobe

Patent number: 7759293Abstract: Hydraulic oil compositions for shock absorbers comprises a lubricating base oil and at least one type of silicone oil selected from the group consisting of silicone oils with a kinematic viscosity at 25° C. of 10,000 to 350,000 mm2/s and fluorine-modified silicone oils with a kinematic viscosity at 25° C. of less than 10,000 mm2/s. The compositions may further comprise a viscosity index improver. The compositions can enhance the damping force and initial damping properties of a shock absorber and thus improve the ride comfort of an automobile equipped with such a shock absorber.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2005Date of Patent: July 20, 2010Assignee: Nippon Oil CorporationInventors: Shinichi Shirahama, Toru Aoki, Naozumi Arimoto

Patent number: 7745381Abstract: A method for lubricating the passage of a conveyor comprising applying an undiluted lubricant composition through non-energized nozzles to at least a portion of the conveyor, the lubricant composition comprising a silicone emulsion and a water-miscible lubricant, the lubricant composition having a viscosity of less than 40 centipoise when measured using a Brookfield viscometer with an RV2 spindle at a spindle speed of 20 RPM and the lubricant composition being substantially free of a triethanolamine salt of dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 2006Date of Patent: June 29, 2010Assignee: Ecolab Inc.Inventors: Arturo S. Valencia Sil, Lawrence A. Grab, Bruce E. Schmidt, David A. Halsrud, Guang-Jong Jason Wei, Eric D. Morrison, Hector R. DiBenedetto, Jessica L. Anacker, Richard D. Johnson, Megan W. Malvey, Scott P. Patent number: 7741257Abstract: The passage of a container along a conveyor is lubricated by applying to the container or conveyor a mixture of a water-miscible silicone material and a water-miscible lubricant. The mixture can be applied in relatively low amounts, to provide thin, substantially non-dripping lubricating films. In contrast to dilute aqueous lubricants, the lubricants of the invention provide drier lubrication of the conveyors and containers, a cleaner conveyor line and reduced lubricant usage, thereby reducing waste, cleanup and disposal problems.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2005Date of Patent: June 22, 2010Assignee: Ecolab Inc.Inventors: Arturo S. Valencia Sil, Lawrence A. Grab, Bruce E. Schmidt, David A. Halsrud, Guang-Jong Jason Wei, Eric D. Morrison, Hector R. DiBenedetto

Patent number: 7741255Abstract: The passage of a container along a conveyor is facilitated by applying to the container or conveyor aqueous compositions containing hardness ions. The compatibility of the aqueous compositions with PET bottles is improved when the ratio of hardness as CaCO3 to alkalinity as CaCO3 is greater than about 1 to 1.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2006Date of Patent: June 22, 2010Assignee: Ecolab Inc.Inventors: Eric D. Publication number: 20100093572Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a food grade lubricant, such as one of synthetic or mineral oil origin, which can be used for the lubrication of rotary screw compressors. The lubricant composition can include a blend of incidental food contact authorized ester or a distilled, acetylated monoglyceride. The lubricant composition can also include an incidental food contact authorized polyether polyol having an average molecular weight number greater than about 1500. The blend can be compounded with additives including one or more of antioxidants, corrosion inhibitors, metal passivators, and anti-foam agents that are cleared for incidental food contact.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2009Publication date: April 15, 2010Inventors: Troy F. Paquette, Eric J. Peter

Publication number: 20100086575Abstract: The present invention relates to benefit agent containing delivery particles, compositions comprising said particles, and processes for making and using the aforementioned particles and compositions. When employed in compositions, for example, cleaning or fabric care compositions, such particles increase the efficiency of benefit agent delivery, there by allowing reduced amounts of benefit agents to be employed. In addition to allowing the amount of benefit agent to be reduced, such particles allow a broad range of benefit agents to be employed.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 7, 2009Publication date: April 8, 2010Inventors: Jiten Odhavji Dihora, Peggy Dorothy Sands, Renae Dianna Fossum, David William York, Matthew Henry Lang, Sandra Jacqueline Guinebretiere
