Abstract: The present invention relates to a lubricating composition containing (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity; and (b) a compound selected from the group consisting of: (i) an ester-containing heterocycle; (ii) an amide-containing heterocycle; and (iii) a pyrimidine, wherein the ester-containing heterocycle and the amide-containing heterocycle have a hydrocarbyl group containing 6 to 40 carbon atoms. The invention further provides for a method of supplying an internal combustion engine with the lubricating composition.

Abstract: Disclosed is a composition that can rapidly plasticize polymers, including, in relation to the total mass of (A) and (B): between 0.1 and 99 mass-% of at least one ester of 1,4:3,6-dianhydrohexitol (A), having a molar mass varying between 255 and 345 g·mol?1 and selected from among monoesters and diesters of isosorbide, isomannide and isoidide; and between 1 and 99.9 mass-% of at least one compound (B) having a molar mass greater than 345 g·mol?1 and selected from among the esters of 1,4:3,6-dianhydrohexitol, the esters of cyclohexane polycarboxylic acid, the esters of phthalic acid, and glycerol esters. Also disclosed is a method for the production of a plasticized object using constituents (A) and (B), as well as to the use of the ester compound (A) as a polymer gelification accelerator.
Abstract: Plasticized, unpigmented and pigmented PVC films are described which utilize a biobased, phthalate ester alternative primary plasticizer. The films show comparable color performance to the phthalate ester-plasticized unpigmented or pigmented PVC films, even where the neat biobased plasticizer has a much higher Pt—Co color as measured according to DIN-6271 (ASTM D 1209) compared to the neat phthalate ester plasticizer. Biobased primary plasticizers in the form of diesters of furan-2,5-dicarboxylic acid are especially contemplated, and provide increased thermal stability to the PVC films as an added benefit.
