With An Organic Nitrogen Compound, Which May Or May Not Be Reacted With The Organic Oxidate (e.g., Reaction Of Oxidized Olefinic Copolymer With Amine, Formaldehyde, And Phenol, Etc.) Patents (Class 508/316)
Abstract: The invention provides a grease composition used for lubricating a mechanical part having a steel portion to be lubricated which performs a rolling motion and a rolling and sliding motion, containing a base oil, a thickener and an additive, wherein the additive includes at least one compound selected from the group consisting of polyethylene wax, oxidized polyethylene wax, polypropylene wax, montan wax and amide wax.
Abstract: A grease is provided which has an improved inflow property of the grease into a lubrication unit and has a long life when used for bearings even under a high temperature environment. A grease composition comprising a base oil and a thickener, characterized in that the base oil contains an ester synthetic oil, the content of the ester synthetic oil is not less than 20% by mass of the total mass of the base oil and the thickener contains a diurea compound represented by the Formula (I): R1—NHCONH—R2—NHCONH—R3,??(I) wherein R2 is a C6-15 divalent aromatic hydrocarbon group, R1 and R3 are the same or different, and represent cyclohexyl or C8-22 linear or branched alkyl, and the molar ratio of cyclohexyl to the total of cyclohexyl and C8-22 linear or branched alkyl is 60 to 95%.
Abstract: A lubricant additive composition having environmentally compatible characteristics as defined by European Council Directive 67/548/EEC is disclosed. Such a composition may include components selected from non-persistent materials, non-bioaccumulative materials, or non-toxic materials.
Abstract: The invention pertains to oil soluble copolymers derived from ethylene and 1-butene which have a number average molecular weight between about 1,500 and 7,500, at least about 30 percent of all polymer chains terminated with ethylvinylidene groups, and ethylene-derived content of not greater than about 50 weight percent, and which form solutions in mineral oil free of polymer aggregates, as determined by light scattering measurements. Lubricating oil additives, particularly dispersants, produced by the functionalization and derivatization of these copolymers have enhanced performance (e.g., improved dispersancy and pour point) in lubricating oil compositions, attributable in part to the combination of properties characterizing the copolymers.

Abstract: A translucent wire and cable lubricant containing from about 30 to about 80 weight percent of a mixture further comprising a resin and an oil, from about 10 to about 40 weight percent solvent, from about 1 to about 15 weight percent thermoplastic synthetic polymer, from about 1 to about 15 weight percent oxidized wax, from about 1 to about 15 percent sheep tallow, an extreme pressure agent, an antiwear agent, and a corrosion inhibitor.
Abstract: A grease composition for constant-velocity joints which is prepared by blending a lube base oil with (A) a urea-urethane thickening agent comprising a mixture of(a) 20 to 95 mole % of a diurea compound of the formula (1): ##STR1## (b) 4 to 50 mole % of a urea-urethane compound of the formula (2): ##STR2## and (c) 1 to 50 mole % of a diurethane compound of the formula (3): ##STR3## with each mole percentage being based on the total amount of the components (a) to (c), wherein a ratio of the total number of R.sup.2 --NH--, R.sup.3 --NH-- and R.sup.5 --NH-- groups contained in the mixture to the total number of R.sup.6 --O--, R.sup.8 --O-- and R.sup.9 --O-- groups contained therein lies between 40:60 and 95:5,(B) at least one compound selected from oxidized paraffins, diphenyl hydrogenphosphite and hexamethylphosphoric triamide, and(C) at least one organomolybdenum compound selected from molybdenum dithiophosphate and molybdenum dithiocarbamate.
