The Chalcogen Is In An -oh Group Bonded To An Acyclic Carbon (wherein H Of -oh May Be Replaced By Metal, Ammonium, Or Substituted Ammonium; E.g., Lithium-12-hydroxy Stearate, Saponified Castor Oil, Etc.) Patents (Class 508/519)
  • Publication number: 20020061824
Abstract: The present invention discloses a hydroforming process for metal parts that uses liquid-film and solid-film lubricants. The lubricants used in the invention are particularly useful for die-side lubrication. The process includes a step in which a ductile metal part is over-coated with either the liquid-film or solid-film lubricant. The liquid lubricants preferably include an oil and a optionally a surfactant. The solid lubricants preferably include a hard wax and optionally a surfactant.

  • Patent number: 6008169
Abstract: Disclosed is a refrigerator oil composition comprising at least one base oil selected from mineral oils and synthetic oils, and at least one hydroxy-fatty acid derivative selected from (A) hydroxy-fatty acids or their condensates, (B) metal salts or amine salts of hydroxy-fatty acids or their condensates, and (C) esters of hydroxy-fatty acids. The composition has an excellent lubricating property, while specifically improving the lubricity between aluminium materials and steel materials. This is effective for preventing such materials from being seized and worn, and is suitable as a lubricating oil in refrigerators using hydrogen-containing Flon refrigerants, such as R134a, that do not cause environmental pollution.

  • Patent number: 5783531
Abstract: A method is disclosed for improving the thickener yield in soap thickened polyalphaolefin base oil greases comprising the steps of (a) producing a simple or complex soap thickener in a quantity of a first PAO of viscosity lower than that of the base oil component in the final grease composition to produce a thickened PAO and (b) adding to the thickened PAO a quantity of a second PAO of viscosity higher than that desired of the base oil component in the final grease composition sufficient to produce a final grease product having the desired base oil viscosity.
