Having -oh Substituted Benzene Ring Bonded Directly To The -c(=x)- Or To The Nitrogen (wherein H Of -oh May Be Replaced By Metal, Ammonium, Or Substituted Ammonium; E.g., Salicylamides, Etc.) Patents (Class 508/553)
Abstract: Provided are a lubricant capable of dispersing particles containing a fluororesin on the surface of a subject and of making the particles adhere to the subject surface without requiring use of a fluorine oil as a base oil; an electric contact having the lubricant on the surface thereof; and a connector terminal and a wire harness having the electric contact. The lubricant contains a base oil and resin particles containing a trifluoroethylene resin, and the content of the resin particles in the lubricant is 10% by mass or more in relation to the mass of the base oil. An electric contact includes a substrate composed of a metal material electrically contacting another conductive member; and a layer of the lubricant arranged on the surface of the substrate. In addition, the connector terminal includes the electric contact at a location of electric contact with a counterpart connector terminal.
Abstract: A biomass-based fuel pellet, such as a fuel pellet which includes thermoplastic polymeric material and a substantial amount of cellulosic material, e.g. cellulosic material derived from biomass source(s), is provided. The fuel pellet commonly includes about 5 to 15 wt. % of the thermoplastic polymeric material and at least about 75 wt. % cellulosic material. Optionally, the fuel pellet may comprise a lignin additive. Many embodiments of the fuel pellets are suitable for use in a coal-fired furnace and/or in other industrial boiler applications.
Abstract: A composition is disclosed which comprises an aryl perfluoropolyether, optionally a halogenated oil, and further optionally a thickening agent. The composition can be used as a lubricant itself or as an additive to an oil or grease lubricant and can withstand temperatures higher than 300° C. without decomposition. The halogenated oil can be a perfluoropolyether, a fluorosilicone, a polytrifluorochloroethylene, or combinations of two or more thereof. The thickening agent can be finely divided silica, boron nitride, clay, soap, poly(tetrafluoroethylene), clay, talc, silica, titanium dioxide, polydimethylsiloxane, polyurea, polyurethane, or combinations of two or more thereof.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a process for preparing a condensation product of a glyoxylic reactant and a hydrocarbyl-substituted aromatic compound having at least one hydroxy functionality, which includes (a) providing the glyoxylic reactant in the form of a compound represented by the formula ##STR1## or its reactive equivalent, wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 independently are hydrogen or hydrocarbyl group of 1 to about 4 carbon atoms; and R.sup.2 and R.sup.4 independently are hydrocarbyl groups of 1 to about 4 carbon atoms; (b) mixing the aromatic compound with the glyoxylic reactant; and (c) heating the mixture to a temperature of about 50.degree. C. to about 200.degree. C. in the presence of an acid catalyst for a sufficient time to form the condensation product.
