  • Patent number: 10336931
Abstract: The present invention relates to the well drilling field in petrochemical industry, in particular to use of dual-cation fluorocarbon surfactant as amphiphobic wettability reversal agent in drilling fluid. The dual-cation fluorocarbon surfactant is a dual-cation fluorocarbon surfactant of which the cation part is represented by the following formula (1). The dual-cation fluorocarbon surfactant of the present invention can serve as wettability reversal agent when it is used for oil-gas drilling to enable rock amphiphobic, and is an amphiphobic wettability reversal agent which can cause rock surface to be non-hydrophilic and non-lipophilic. Using of dual-cation fluorocarbon surfactant, especially when drilling highly hydrous mud shale, can avoid permeation of water and oil into the rock effectively and thereby a capillary phenomenon can be prevented, and an effect of stabilizing the well wall and protecting the reservoir is attained.

  • Patent number: 10260028
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for making soap bar compositions comprising bar matrix comprising predominantly long chain length soap and interspersed regions comprising predominantly shorter chain soaps. The novel bars of the invention are sufficiently hard to survive large scale manufacturing while simultaneously delivering benefits of significant foam value enhancement, for example, due to delivery of short-chain soaps from concentrated regions. Surprisingly, even when soaps in concentrated regions comprise small percentage of overall soap used, they form observable kappa phase pattern.

However, the composition applies an effective level of sunscreen or UV screen material to the body such that the sunscreen or UV screen continues to provide effective solar protection even after rinsing or washing of the human body. Further, the material is a non-greasy, easy to apply material that may be used during showering activities in a manner similar to using a bar soap or cleanser. The composition includes a variety of materials that assist in the processing and storage of the body wash. Effective amounts of solar protective material include octyl methoxycinnamate, octyl salicylate, and titanium dioxide. Testing shows that the product provides a solar protective level of at least approximately 14 even after multiple rinsings. Further embodiments have achieved a solar protective level of at least approximately 17.

  • Publication number: 20130072410
Abstract: The present invention provides liquid cleaning compositions useful in cold water and hard water laundry applications, and methods for making and using such compositions. The compositions of the invention use surfactants or surfactant blends, such as ?-sulfofatty acid esters or mixtures thereof (optionally along with one or more additional components), that have increased solubility/stability at cold temperatures, at higher-than-usual concentrations, and/or in hard water, with the composition remaining as a clear liquid. In certain embodiments, the compositions of the invention may be provided in the form of a unit dose, for example in a water-soluble pack or pouch. In use, the compositions of the invention result in an enhanced detergency along with a reduced amount of residue remaining in the machine, on laundered garments or cleaned dishware or hard surfaces, and on the body in personal care settings, and demonstrate a longer shelf-life, particularly when stored or used in colder temperatures.
