Patent number: 7759298Abstract: The present invention includes a process using environmentally benign materials for the removal of adhesive residues from hard substrates, particularly vehicles, e.g., cars, trucks, buses, aerospace vehicles including airplanes, and the like. The invention uses an absorbable indicator (tracer) dye to aid in detection of remaining residues that may be in need of additional cleaning. The process uses a novel adhesive remover composition comprising a non-halogenated organic solvent, a non-abrasive thickening agent, a surfactant, glycerine, and an absorbable indicator dye. The invention provides a cost effective, safe, environmentally friendly adhesive remover composition specifically formulated for removal of, e.g., pressure sensitive adhesive residues from large areas of aircraft composite and aluminum surfaces, as well as others.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2006Date of Patent: July 20, 2010Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Ralph E. Patent number: 7737099Abstract: Environmentally safe, cost effective, VOC-free compositions and methods for the prevention and treatment of corrosive processes in and on metal such as rust, flash rust and scale in a wide variety of industry sectors is provided. Compositions particularly well suited for preventing and treating flash rust may include an organic acid or salt thereof, a natural gum and/or wax and/or wax extract, and water. Such compositions do not substantially affect the adhesive quality of coatings subsequently applied to the metal surface and provide excellent solvent and spray resistance.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 2006Date of Patent: June 15, 2010Assignee: Transfer Technologies International CorporationInventors: LeeAnn Applewhite, Mairym Samra, John P.
