  • Patent number: 7344656
Abstract: Stable oxidizing compositions and a method of preparing such compositions are presented. The compositions include a peroxygen, for example, a potassium monopersulfate or, percarbonate particle suspended in an alcoholic gel. The alcohol content in the gel is such that the peroxygen particle is prevented from coming into contact with water during storage, thereby helping maintain a high available oxygen level. When the alcoholic gel is mixed with water, it becomes less viscous and exposes the peroxygen particle to the water. The peroxygen is ready for use when it dissolves in the water.

  • Patent number: 6395185
Abstract: The invention relates to the inhibition of tripolyphosphate and pyrophosphate scales in aqueous systems involving adding to said aqueous system at least one copolymer comprising the following monomers in polymerized form: (I) 50-80% by weight of one or more weak acids; (II) 2-50% by weight of one or more strong acids; (III) 0-30% by weight of one or more monoethylenically unsaturated C4-C8 dicarboxylic acids; and (IV) 0-30% by weight of one or more monomethylenically unsaturated monomers polymerizable with (I), (II) and (III); wherein the total of monomers (I), (II), (III), and (IV) equals 100% by weight of copolymer. The invention is particularly suited to the inhibition of tripolyphosphate and pyrophosphate scales which occur as a result of using low phosphate (STPP) containing detergent formulations.

  • Publication number: 20020039981
Abstract: The invention teaches the preparation of concentrated sanitizing and cleaning preparation. The preparation has dual use for cleaning and sanitizing food surfaces as well as food contact and non-food contact surfaces. The composition of the invention shows rapid microbicidal properties against representative gram positive and gram-negative bacteria. The invention uses GRAS, food additive ingredients and/or ingredients that are approved by the USFDA for use on food.

  • Patent number: 6274539
Abstract: Disclosed are thickened light-duty or gel dishwashing detergent compositions that are especially useful for the manual washing of heavily soiled dishware. Such compositions essentially contain an alkyl ether sulfate-based anionic surfactant, a polyhydroxy fatty acid amide-based nonionic surfactant component, a sud booster which is preferably an amine oxide, an aqueous liquid carrier, a pH control agent such as potassium carbonate to provide a relatively alkaline product, and an acrylic copolymer thickener such as Acusol™ 820.

  • Patent number: RE38262
Abstract: We have found an alkaline warewashing detergent composition that can contain a critical amount of a nonionic rinse agent that when used in automatic warewashing machines permits the use of a potable water rinse without the addition of a separate rinse agent. Sufficient residual nonionic surfactant from the alkaline detergent remains on the surface ware and internal machine and rack surfaces after washing to promote adequate sheeting in the rinse cycle. The residual nonionic surfactant on internal surfaces dissolves in the rinse water to create an effective aqueous rinse agent. The nonionic rinse agents can be a single nonionic for both foam reduction cleaning and sheeting or can be a blend of nonionic materials providing these functions. The detergent can be in the form of a particulate, pelletized or block solid.
