Abstract: A cleaning composition with a limited number of natural ingredients contains alkyl polyglucoside, solvent, acetic acid and water. The cleaning composition optionally contains dyes, glycerol, builders, fatty acids, polymers, fragrances, colorants, anti-foaming agents and preservatives. The cleaning composition can be used to clean hard surfaces and cleans as well or better than commercial compositions containing synthetically derived cleaning agents.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a detergent composition containing (a) 2 to 30% by weight of an inorganic alkali, (b) 0.5 to 20% by weight of at least one surfactant selected from an anionic surfactant and a nonionic surfactant, (c) 0.01 to 2% by weight (based on calcium ion) of a calcium salt, (d) 0.1 to 15% by weight of a calcium ion-sequestering agent, (e) 1 to 30% by weight of a water-soluble organic solvent and (f) 20 to 95% by weight of water.
Abstract: An acidic cleaning formulation containing a surface modification agent selected from a group consisting of a hydrolyzed trialkoxysilane or a hydrolyzable quaternary silane and a surfactant is disclosed. The cleaning formulation is stable, provides excellent cleaning efficacy and deposits a silane coating on the surfaces to which it is applied to leave a protective coating thereon. Also, disclosed is a method for applying the cleaning formulation to hard surfaces covered by water.
Abstract: Residue that accumulates on metallic molding surfaces during repeated molding of plastics such as PVC can be removed by cleaning with an aqueous solution of a glycol or oligo-glycol monoether, an amine, and a chelating agent. The cleaner is sufficiently effective to replace mechanical blasting that was previously required.
Abstract: Substantially nonaqueous concentrates for use in preparing stable, aqueous cleaner/degreaser compositions in the form of totally water soluble solutions comprise (a) at least one sparingly water soluble organic solvent having certain defined characteristics; (b) a solubilizing additive consisting of from approximately 0.1 to approximately 100 weight percent of a surfactant and from 0 to approximately 99.9 weight percent of a coupler, the solubilizing additive being present in an amount of approximately 3% to approximately 15% by weight excess over that minimally required to form a clear solution when the concentrate is combined with water; and (c) not more than 10.0 weight percent of water; (d) the concentrate forming a barely clear, totally water soluble solution when diluted with water to produce a solution having the desired cleaning/degreasing strength.
Abstract: For degreasing the surface of an object, applying thereto a composition containing at least 25% by weight of an amphiphilic compound of the formula A--B, wherein A is a lipophilic and hydrophobic radical and B is a hydrophilic radical, e.g., an alkyleneglycol ether oxide having a terminal group of at least 10 carbon atoms, then rinsing the surface with water.
Abstract: Hydroxamic acids and hydroxamic acid ethers I and II ##STR1## where Z.sup.1 and Z.sup.2 are --NH --OY, --NR.sup.1 --OY or --OX, where in the case of (I) at least one of Z.sup.1 or Z.sup.2, and in the case of (II) Z.sup.1 is --NH --OY or --NR.sup.1 --OY, andR.sup.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 -alkyl,X is hydrogen, alkali metal, ammonium or substituted ammonium, andY is hydrogen, alkali metal, ammonium, substituted ammonium or C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 -alkyl, andL is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.100 linker which can also carry oxygen and nitrogen functional groups, with the exception of N,N-bis(carboxymethyl)-2-aminoacetohydroxamic acid.

Abstract: An pre-spotting composition which comprises by weight percent of about 0.1 to about 15 wt. % of ?(R).sub.3 N.sup.+ R'(OH).sup.- ! wherein R is a methyl or ethyl group, R' is an alkyl or ethoxylated alkyl group having about 10 to about 20 carbon atoms and water and optionally an alkali metal silicate, a cyclic nitrogen containing compound; an alknolamine; and a surfactant.
Abstract: Limescale removing compositions contain a low level of surfactant, i.e., less than about 1% and maleic acid and have a pH of from about 0.1 to about 4.5. The surfactant can be anionic, nonionic, amphoteric, or cationic, but is preferably cationic. The composition can be used neat, or diluted, by applying it to the surface to be treated, leaving it to react, and then rinsing.
Abstract: A biodegradable, acidic aqueous composition, with an anionic surfactant for the removal of rust, inorganic and organic deposits from a variety of surfaces. Said composition comprising Hydrochloric Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Tetrasodium EDTA, Anionic Surfactant, Perfume Oil, Dye and Water.
