Abstract: A detergent composition is provided which contains a zeolite builder having a particle size, d.sub.50 of less than 1 micrometer; and a bicarbonate builder. The zeolite builder and bicarbonate builder are present in a ratio of from 5:1 to 1:1. Low levels of carbonate builder may be present such that the weight ratio of carbonate builder to the bicarbonate builder is less than 1:1.
Abstract: A microporous crystalline material named zeolite A-LSX having, in its anhydrous form, an oxides molar composition corresponding to formula (I):(M.sub.2/n O+M'.sub.2/n O).Al.sub.2 O.sub.3.zSiO.sub.2 (I)in which:M and M', identical or different, represent a cation of an alkali or alkaline earth metal of valency n;z is a number between 2.1 and 2.6, extremes included.Said microporous crystalline material can be used as a builder in detergent systems.

Abstract: An emulsified detergent composition is provided. The detergent composition comprises from about 0.1% to about 70%, by weight of the detergent composition, of a detersive surfactant wherein at least from about 70% to about 90%, by weight of the detersive surfactant, is a nonionic surfactant. The detergent composition also includes an electrolyte, in an amount sufficient to render the cloud point of the detergent composition to be less than about 20.degree. C., and water. The detersive surfactant and the water are in two phases in a weight ratio of about 1:10 to about 10:1 in the detergent composition. Superior cleaning and stain removal results because the emulsified detergent composition provides separation of the water and surfactant phases in a low water wash system over a broad temperature range and allows for cleaning below the cloud point of the surfactant system.

Abstract: A detergent composition containing surfactants selected from anionic, cationic, nonionic, amphoteric and zwitterionic surfactants and a builder component containing 40% to 80% by weight of amorphous alkali metal silicates and 10% to 40% by weight of alkali metal carbonates in the form of a compound, with the proviso that the alkali metal carbonate content is always greater than the alkali metal silicate content, and at most 25% by weight of water, and wherein the compound does not have a homogeneous surface nor a uniform particle size distribution.
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with granular components comprising an enzyme, specified polymeric binding material, and a mixture of coating components. The granular components are particularly suitable for use in detergent compositions.
Abstract: Finishing agent for the finishing treatment of textile fiber materials of natural origin and/or of regenerated cellulose and/or of synthetic fibers, containing i) a fine-grained, inorganic abrasive, ii) an anionic or non-ionic, low-foaming wetting agent, and iii) a non-ionic carrier, and the use of this finishing agent in the finishing treatment of textile fiber materials, whereby special surface effects are obtained.
Abstract: Enzyme granules which comprise in their composition, in addition to the enzyme, water-soluble and water-insoluble fillers, binders and if appropriate other granulating auxiliaries, a formate of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal and if appropriate reducing sugars being added to them to stabilize the enzyme, are described. All the enzymes customary for detergents and cleaning purposes, in particular alkaline proteases, can be processed into the enzyme granules. A process for the preparation of these enzyme granules and their use in pulverulent detergent formulations are also described.

Abstract: A powdered detergent composition comprising a nonionic surfactant as the main surfactant, which comprises (a) a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, wherein the alkyl group has 10 to 20 carbon atoms on the average and the average molar number of ethylene oxide added is 5 to 15, in an amount of 12 to 35% by weight based on the total weight of the composition, (b) a lipolytic enzyme in such an amount that the lipolytic activity per gram of component (a) would be 0.1 to 500 LU, (c) an anionic surfactant in an amount of 1.0 to 7.0% by weight based on the total weight of the composition and (d) an alkaline material in an amount of 5 to 35% by weight based on the total weight of the composition, and of which a 0.1% by weight aqueous solution has a pH exceeding 9.0, is excellent in detergency on oily soils such as subum soil.
Abstract: A process for preparing high density detergent agglomerates having a density of at least 650 g/l is provided. The process comprises the steps of: (a) continuously mixing a detergent surfactant paste and dry starting detergent material into a high speed mixer/densifier to obtain detergent agglomerates, wherein the ratio of the surfactant paste to the dry detergent material is from about 1:10 to about 10:1; (b) mixing the detergent agglomerates in a moderate speed mixer/densifier to further densify and agglomerate the detergent agglomerates; and (c) drying said detergent agglomerates so as to form the high density detergent composition. The process may include one or more additional processing steps such as adding a coating agent after the moderate speed mixer/densifier to facilitate and control agglomeration.
