Abstract: Improved compositions containing a visible coloring agent, such as a pigment or dye, together with a polymer or hydroxylated aliphate alcohol, and an active ingredient defined as a surfactant, a therapeutic agent or biocide, are disclosed. The detectable agent is readily visible under normal white light, and provides a technique for monitoring disturbed and undisturbed areas on a surface. Such is useful in the described methods for cleaning and/or decontaminating a surface, such as in the decontamination of equipment and clothing used during hazardous spill response. The compositions are adherent to a variety of different materials, including Teflon.RTM.. This makes the preparations particularly useful in the cleaning and decontamination of non-flat and curved surfaces, such as on protective garments.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a stable, aqueous odor-absorbing composition, for use on inanimate surfaces. The composition comprises from about 0.1% to about 5%, by weight of the composition, of solubilized, water-soluble, uncomplexed cyclodextrin, an effective amount of a solubilized, water-soluble, antimicrobial preservative having a water-solubility of greater than about 0.3%, optional perfume; and an aqueous carrier. The composition is essentially free of any material that would soil or stain fabric and has a pH of greater than about 3. The composition can be incorporated into a spray dispenser to create an article of commerce that can facilitate treatment of articles and/or surfaces with uncomplexed cyclodextrin solutions of a level that is effective yet is not discernible when dried on the surface.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an aqueous composition for reducing malodor impression. The composition comprises from about 0.01% to about 1%, by weight of the composition, of perfume wherein the perfume preferably comprises ingredients having a Clog P of 3 or smaller. Optionally, but preferably, the composition comprises from about 0.1% to about 5%, by weight of the composition of, water-soluble cyclodextrin, from about 0.1% to about 10%, by weight of the composition, of water-soluble metallic salt, from about 0% to about 3%, by weight of the composition, of solubilizing aid. The composition is essentially free of any material that would soil or stain fabric and contains less than about 5%, by weight of the composition of low molecular weight monohydric alcohols.

Abstract: This invention relates to a system for cleansing the skin comprising a hydrophobic diamond-mesh sponge and a liquid cleansing and moisturizing composition with excellent lather in the same washing and rinsing operation. The system provides improved lather and overall acceptability for mild liquid cleansing compositions which contain moisturizers and especially for those which would otherwise have marginal lather.

Abstract: The present invention relates to foam producing products useful for personal cleansing. These products comprise a foamable liquid composition and a foam-producing foam dispenser. These products provide a stable homogeneous foam and good lathering and cleansing characteristics. These products are very mild to the skin and are useful for moisturizing the skin and for delivering a wide variety of active ingredients to the skin.

Abstract: An aqueous liquid cleansing and moisturising composition comprising a surface active agent and a benefit agent in which the surface active agent and benefit agent are separate but combinedly dispensable from a single packaging means in a predetermined ratio as discrete domains. Separating the benefit agent from the surface active agent results in improved deposition of the benefit agent.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a self-foaming, self-leveling aqueous liquid composition packagable in a non-pressurized deformable dispenser of flexible barrier material adapted to contain, maintain and dispense a proportioned amount of the cleansing composition under positive pressure. The composition comprises: a major amount of water; a surfactant; and a dual purpose pressure agent comprising at least one aliphatic hydrocarbon fluid in amounts sufficient to provide the liquid composition, which when contained in a dispenser exerts a positive vapor pressure at least at about 1.6.degree. C. The composition is dispensed as a liquid under normal operating conditions, which liquid foams instantaneously and spontaneously on spreading.

Abstract: The invention is a foam stabilizing composition which is used in conjunction with alkaline detergent products to produce a foam which is capable of clinging to vertical surfaces for extended time periods without breakdown or drying and which ultimately rinses freely with water. The foam stabilizing composition generally comprises a vinyl polymer emulsion. The invention also comprises a method of cleaning hard surfaces using the combination of the alkaline detergent product and the disclosed foam stabilizing composition.

Abstract: Detergent compositions comprising a hydrocarbyl-amidoalkyl-enebetaine synthetic detergent surfactant; cleaning solvent; and buffer provide superior filming/streaking and good cleaning of hard to remove grease soils. Preferred compositions contain at least one cosurfactant. The compositions can be used to clean glass as well as for general cleaning purposes.
