  • Patent number: 8778862
Abstract: Concentrated liquid cleaning fluid compositions for hard surface cleaning which are particularly suited for storage and dispensing from water-dissolvable plastic pouches. In use the pouches are placed in water whereupon the plastic pouch dissolves allowing the concentrated composition to become diluted in the water to provide a cleaner. The concentrated cleaning composition has good stability and does not affect the plastic or rate of dissolution of the pouch, and allows use of a variety of colorants and fragrances with a base product formulation. The formulation includes a linear alkyl benzene sulfonic acid (LABSA), a nonionic ethoxylated alcohol surfactant, and an alkanol amine or alkyl amine capable of reacting with the LABSA so that the sulfonic group is added to the amine.

Abstract: The present invention includes a consumer product packet comprising a capsule and a fill composition within the capsule. The capsule has a tack temperature of about 110° F. or higher and substantially dissolves in water within a predetermined time period at a temperature of about 70° F. or lower. In one example, the capsule comprises a film having at least one polymer, at least one plasticizer, and at least one temperature adjusting agent. Dependent on the fill composition, the consumer product packet may be used for any household or personal use. In one example, the fill composition is a detergent concentrate comprises one or more surfactants, one or more humectants, and a coalescing solvent which has hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) value from about 7 to about 9, wherein the ratio of the one or more humectants to the coalescing solvent is more than 1.

  • Patent number: 8283300
Abstract: A water-soluble pouch suitable for use in machine dishwashing and which comprises a plurality of compartments in generally superposed or superposable relationship, each containing one or more detergent active or auxiliary components, and wherein the pouch has a volume of from about 5 to about 70 ml and a longitudinal/transverse aspect ratio in the range from about 2:1 to about 1:8, preferably from about 1:1 to about 1:4. The water-soluble pouch allows for optimum delivery of dishwashing detergent. A process for the manufacture of multi-compartment pouches and a pack to contain the pouches are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8276350
Abstract: Methods for placing apertures in a film material wrapping of soap bars so that the soap bar fragrance can be readily detected outside of the packaged soap bar. The apertures can be shaped apertures or slit apertures. The apertures can be placed in the film material at the time of the decoration of the film material or at the time of feeding the film material to be placed around the soap bar. The apertures can be any surface of the wrapped soap bar, but should be of an overall surface area to emit not more than 60% of the fragrance or 50% of the moisture content of the soap bar over a period of 6 months. In addition the surface of the film material adjacent the soap bar may contain a coating of the fragrance of the soap bar, or in the alternative the surface of an inner insert material such as a stiffener can contain a coating of the fragrance of the soap bar.

Abstract: Eco-friendly, or “green”, cleaning wipes are disclosed. The wipes may include a substrate and a green concentrated aqueous cleaning composition impregnated therein. The wipes are dry to the touch before they are activated by water and applied to inanimate surfaces for cleaning. Because of the green concentrated cleaning composition and water-activation just before application, the disclosed wipes may clean larger surface areas and have longer shelf lives and lower weights for easy transportation, packaging and handling than conventional wet wipes that are pre-loaded with a diluted cleaning composition.
