Abstract: A hand-washing method using an antimicrobial liquid hand soap which includes: (a) water; (b) a primary hand soap composition; (c) a biocide; and (d) a glutinous surfactant having a relative contact angle value with water of at least about +10° with respect to the primary hand soap composition. The glutinous surfactant is present in an amount effective to alter the tactile properties of the primary soap composition to promote longer and more thorough hand washing by eliciting a response to the soap's feel on the skin.

Abstract: The present invention may include a cleanser having a liposome and greater than about 40 weight percent of a solvent. The liposome may be loaded with the solvent more than about 7 days after the manufacture of the liposome. The solvent may be an isoprenoid or ester solvent. Furthermore, the solvent may be d-limonene or a dibasic ester. In addition, the liposome may be selected from the group consisting of large unilamellar vesicles, multilamellar vesicles, paucilamellar vesicles, and small unilamellar vesicles. Desirably, the liposome is a paucilamellar vesicle. Desirably, the cleanser may have a solvent weight percent greater than about 60. More desirably, the cleanser may have a weight percent of solvent greater than about 80. Moreover, the solvent is about a 1:1 weight ratio of d-limonene and dibasic ester.

Abstract: Wet-like cleaning wipes and similar articles are described. These wipes comprise a carrier that provides controlled fluid absorbency and an emulsion applied to the carrier. The emulsion comprises a continuous external lipid phase and a polar (e.g., water) internal phase. The emulsion is sufficiently brittle that it ruptures when subjected to low shear pressures during use to release the dispersed polar phase. The carrier allows the released internal phase to initially reach and remain on the surface being cleaned, but then absorbs the material at the end of the wiping process.
