  • Patent number: 10987696
Abstract: The present technology provides a method for preparing an acid-reducing filter that includes depositing a mineral blend layer to a filter substrate, where the mineral blend layer comprises calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate at a weight ratio of about 1:10 to about 10:1, the mineral blend is free of soluble halide or hydroxide salts of alkali or alkaline earth metals, and the mineral blend layer is insoluble in water.

  • Patent number: 8063265
Abstract: A hydrogel having a floatability where from 40% to 90% of a solution and/or suspension to be thickened are thickened starting from the surface of the liquid and the rest of the solution and/or suspension to be thickened is thickened starting from the bottom of the container, a process for preparing the hydrogel and also its use for absorbing blood and/or body fluids, especially in hygiene articles, or for thickening aqueous solutions and/or suspensions, especially for thickening medical wastes.

  • Patent number: 7491427
Abstract: [PROBLEMS] To provide a polyimidesiloxane solution composition that is excellent in defoaming ability and that can maintain the wettability of an outer lead bonded portion on a wiring board at a high level, even when it is applied on the surface of the wiring board and then cured, to form an insulating cured film. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A polyimidesiloxane solution composition which comprises an organic solvent, polyimidesiloxane soluble in the organic solvent, a curable components such as an epoxy compound and a polyvalent isocyanate compound, and a silicone defoamer, wherein the silicone defoaming agent comprises dimethylpolysiloxane, a polysiloxane compound having a hydrophilic group in a side chain or a terminal moiety, and a micro-powder silica.

  • Patent number: 6130258
Abstract: A method for resolving an oil-and-water emulsion is disclosed. The method comprises adding to the emulsion (1) if the emulsion does not contain a desirably high concentration of polyvalent metal cations of at least one part per million by weight, an amount of polyvalent metal cations sufficient to result in the desirably polyvalent metal cation concentration in the emulsion, and (2) an effective demulsifying amount of a combination of a terminating agent that is either a non-emulsifying hydrotrope composition or a coupling agent, and a composition comprising a polydithiocarbamate compound comprising at least two groups represented by the formula --(OR.sup.1).sub.X NHC(:S)SR.sup.2, wherein R.sup.1 represents an alkylene group of 1 to 30 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 represents an alkali or alkaline earth metal group or an ammonium group; and x represents an integer of from 1 to about 250 independently selected for each of such groups such that the total of the integers x is, on average, from 3 to about 250.
