Abstract: Surfactant systems are provided using microfibrous cellulose to suspend particulates. In one embodiment the surfactant system includes a microfibrous cellulose at a concentration from about 0.05% to about 1.0% (w/w), a surfactant at a concentration of about 51% to about 99% (w/w active surfactant), and a suspended particulate. Also provided herein are methods for preparing surfactant systems including microfibrous cellulose.
Abstract: An oil-in-water emulsion that includes a brine continuous phase; and an oleaginous discontinuous phase stabilized by an emulsifier blend, the emulsifier blend comprising: an emulsifier having an HLB greater than 11; and an amphoteric chemotrope is disclosed. Emulsifier blends comprising an emulsifier having an HLB greater than 11 and an amphoteric chemotrope and methods of using emulsifier blends are also disclosed.

Abstract: A cosmetic composition comprising a lipophilic clay gel and a hydrophilic clay gel. The two gels are combined or formed in situ to create a gel matrix. This matrix functions like an emulsion to deliver water and oil to the skin or other surface, but can be substantially free of surfactants, emulsifiers and waxes. A method for the preparation of a clay gel matrix is also revealed.
Abstract: Compositions comprising, in an aqueous phase, at least one amphiphilic polymer comprising at least one fatty chain and hydrophilic units, and at least one polyoxyalkylene, and optionally comprising a thickening system for use in particular in cosmetics.
Abstract: A new composition of matter is a blend of (i) a crosslinked elastomeric silicone polyether and (ii) a crosslinked elastomeric silicone containing alkyl groups having 3-40 carbon atoms. The new composition can be used in preparing water-in-oil emulsions, and clear solutions containing an oil(s) or an oil-soluble active ingredient(s).

Abstract: An organomineral decontamination gel that is used to decontaminate surfaces, in particular metal surfaces. The organomineral gel is made up of a colloid solution containing the combination of a mineral viscosing agent and an organic viscosing agent (coviscosant) chosen from among hydrosoluble organic polymers and surfactants. The presence of an organic viscosing agent improves the rheological properties of gels and substantially reduces their mineral content which generates smaller quantities of solid waste. A decontamination process for metal surface which entails applying the organomineral gel onto the surface to be decontaminated, maintaining this gel on the surface and removing the gel from the surface in particular by rinsing is also provided.
