Patent number: 7827748Abstract: A tower foundation (10) comprises a base slab (11), a plurality of pillar slabs (12), and a crown stab (13). The base slab (11), pillar slabs (12) and crown slab (13) are all retained in position by six steel guide rods (18) that extend upwardly from the base slab (11). The six guide rods (18) have externally threaded ends configured to receive internally threaded mounting bolts (20). The guide rods are arranged in a generally triangular pattern. The pillar slabs are rectangular with their sides being undercut or sloping outwardly from the bottom surface to the top surface, i.e., the sidewalls diverge outwardly as they extend upwardly. The outwardly sloping sidewalls aid in preventing the foundation from tilting over time.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2004Date of Patent: November 9, 2010Assignee: Dixie Precast, Inc.Inventor: Franklin Brown

Patent number: 7823348Abstract: A system and method which positions and orients a wall post or column during positioning and supports the post after it has been positioned. The system embodying the principles of the present invention is set and contacts surfaces of the post. The system includes two monolithic one-piece anchor blocks located on a level surface to have top faces thereof located co-level with each other and tie and cross rods each of which has a surface that is vertically oriented when in use and which abuttingly engages a corresponding surface of the post when in use. At least one tie rod is connected to the anchor block top faces and the cross rod is attached to the tie rod. The tie rod is located at a desired position relative to a reference plane and the cross rod is located at a desired location relative to a reference location. The post is located between the two anchor blocks and in abutting contact with the vertically oriented surfaces of the rods.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2007Date of Patent: November 2, 2010Inventor: Manuel Leiva

Patent number: 7815157Abstract: A method for reinstating a pole standing in ground comprising, abutting an inner surface of a sleeve against an outer surface of the pole so as to have a lower portion of the sleeve penetrating the ground and an upper portion of the sleeve projecting above the ground, and sliding a secondary member against an outer surface of the sleeve so that the secondary member locates against the sleeve and projects above the ground and into the ground, wherein the construction is such that the sleeve and secondary member located against the sleeve jointly form a bridging beam incorporating a box section reinforcement of the bridging beam. The formation of this box section substantially improves the strength of the bridging beam above what would be expected from the strength of the individual components.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 2005Date of Patent: October 19, 2010Assignee: Andoria Pty. Patent number: 7779588Abstract: A concrete foundation is described which is adapted to be embedded in the ground for supporting a pole thereon. The foundation is comprised of a vertically disposed central section having upper and lower ends with a base section embracing the lower end of the central section and being wedged thereagainst to anchor the central section in the ground. If additional weight is needed, one or more base sections may be stacked on top of the lowermost base section.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2009Date of Patent: August 24, 2010Inventor: William E. Publication number: 20100146875Abstract: A support post structure utilizing a core of wooden material. A cap extends over the bottom of the post and along the side of the post. A sheath extends over the side of the post and overlaps the cap. A heat flowable sealant is placed between the sheath and the core. Both the sheath and the cap may be heat shrunk to the post.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 30, 2008Publication date: June 17, 2010Inventor: John Redding

Patent number: 7735268Abstract: An apparatus for bracing a masonry wall that is bowing or has begun to buckle as a result of hydrostatic pressure and/or other forces as may occur with the foundation or basement wall of a building. The wall restraint system includes a vertically disposed beam, which is positioned against a vertical concrete masonry wall and secured in place by a bottom bracket and a top bracket. The beam reinforces the wall and prevents further bowing, buckling, or potentially collapsing of the wall. One end of the beam is secured to the floor by a bottom bracket. The bottom bracket preferably receives the lower end of the beam. The upper end of the beam is secured against the basement wall by a top bracket or offset connector, which in turn is secured to one of the overhead floor joists. The beam may be offset to avoid piping or the like.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 2007Date of Patent: June 15, 2010Assignee: Engineered Foundation Products, LLCInventors: Robert J. Zidar, James F.
