  • Patent number: 10100536
Abstract: A modular wall panel system includes a pair of specially formed receiver strips, base and crown moldings, and a panel. The receiver strips are respectively mounted at selective upper and lower wall locations. Each receiver strip has an elongated base for mounting to the wall, and first and second flanges protruding therefrom, with each flange having a pair of apices particularly formed and located thereon. The crown and base moldings have bottom and rear surfaces, an inward facing ornate/sculpted surface, and a mating flange configured to cantilever away from the rear surface. The mating flange includes a pair of apices that are configured to be mated between the first and second flanges of the receiver strip, and be retained by its flange apices. The receiver strip also spaces the rear surface of the moldings away from the wall/studs, for the panel to be inserted behind the rear surface of each.

Abstract: An articulate battery case encases a battery ensemble having multiple non-contiguous battery segments flexibly interconnected to one another by conductive leads. The articulate battery case employs a plurality of rigid compartments for encasing the battery ensemble. Each compartment is configured for encasing one non-contiguous battery segment. Each compartment is flexibly connected by one or more flexible hinge to at least one adjoining compartment and is articulate therewith. Each compartment defines one or more ports for interconnecting conductive leads between battery segments encased in adjoining compartments. Each compartment is interconnected to every other compartment, with or without one or more intervening compartment. When a battery ensemble is encased within the articulate battery case, it is rendered articulate, i.e., it acquires the articulation characteristics of the case within which it is contained.

  • Patent number: 8381473
Abstract: Connectors for joining adjacent modular floor covering units. The connectors include a film and an adhesive layer coated on one side of the film. To install tiles using the connectors, a first tile is placed on the floor and a connector is positioned so that the adhesive layer faces upward and does not contact the floor. The connector is typically positioned so that only a portion of the adhesive layer adheres to the underside of the tile, leaving the remainder of the connector extending from the underside of the tile. Tiles are then positioned adjacent the first tile so that a portion of the connector adheres to the adjacent tiles. In this way, the connectors span adjacent tile edges. The tiles are assembled on a underlying flooring surface without the need to attach them to the floor surface. Rather, the tiles are linked to each other with the connectors, so that the tiles create a floor covering that “floats” on the underlying floor surface.

Abstract: To obtain a covering on a supporting structure that has a visual appearance that varies with the angle of light from a light source impinging on the covering, there are provided parquet blocks having reference edges and top surfaces with geometric forms in parallel relationship extending to a higher elevation than the block's adjacent surface portions and extending at angles relative to the reference edges that varies from that of other blocks. The parquet blocks in plan view may be of varying shapes such as rectangular, triangular, etc. while the geometric forms may be, for example, any one of parallel ridges, lands between parallel slots, rows of selected shapes in linearly spaced, linear alignment, etc. Indicia may be provided on the blocks together with a chart having markings facilitating selecting and adhering the blocks to the supporting structure to obtain the desired pattern.

Abstract: Aspects relate to improved floor boards. Certain embodiments may be laid and fixed without the need for fixing with adhesive or nails. Example floor boards are convenient for use and simple in structure, and after a decorative strip is adopted, it further has the advantage of good decorative effects. In one embodiment, a floor board includes a four-sided surface board connected to a four-sided base board. In one embodiment, positions of board-shaped hooking tongues on two edges of the base board body and positions of board-shaping hooking tongues on two other edges of the base board body are arranged in a staggered manner, and the positions of buckles on two edges of the base board body and the positions of buckles on two other edges of the base board body are arranged in a staggered manner.

Abstract: Grooved tiles, grooved tile assemblies, methods of manufacturing grooved tiles, and methods of forming grooved tile assemblies are disclosed. The tiles of the present invention include grooves or recesses in the top surface that form one or more complete patterns and/or partial patterns, and that may intersect with one or more edges of the tile. The grooves of one tile can advantageously mate with the grooves of other identical or different grooved tiles when the intersection locations of adjacent tiles are aligned. In addition, the grooved tiles can provide the appearance of including numerous smaller individual tiles, thus eliminating the need for separately placing spacers between the tiles or first backing the tiles with mesh, netting, or paper backing prior to or during installation.

Abstract: Laminated flooring planks include decorative motifs, mechanically embossed-in-registration surface textures, recessed perimeters, and locking mechanisms. Adjacent planks substantially aligned allow embossed-in-registration patterns to be substantially continuous across adjacent flooring panels. The recessed perimeter prevents the edges of the flooring panel from prematurely wearing. Individual planks within the flooring system may comprise at least one partial sub-panel having a decorative motif and/or embossed surface texture (i.e., pattern) that is complementary with a pattern of a neighboring partial sub-panel or plank. Each plank may include edge patterns adjacent a portion of an edge of the plank and at least one bulk pattern adjacent the edge patterns. Edge patterns within a plank and of planks within a flooring system are substantially identical to each other. Bulk patterns form a substantially continuous pattern within an individual plank when adjacent a plank.
