Terminal Engaging Flange Or Flanged Member Patents (Class 52/349)
  • Patent number: 11905705
Abstract: Fire-rated wall construction components and wall systems for use in building construction. Embodiments can include tracks for holding studs which incorporate various geometries capable of receiving fire-retardant material, including but not limited to intumescent material. The fire-retardant material can be attached to compressible backer rods inserted within deflection gaps in the wall systems such that the fire-retardant material expands and seals gaps and/or areas between the tracks and wall components such as ceilings, floors, and drywall. Various assemblies and methods can be used to cover the deflection gap.

  • Patent number: 7896132
Abstract: A multi-level fall protection system for a structure under construction, the structure having reinforced concrete decks including a first deck and a second deck arranged above the first deck and openings provided in the decks. The system includes bearing plates arranged in an associated opening in the first deck and having a flange portion larger than the associated opening. Lateral support blocks are arranged in an associated opening in the second deck. Vertical support posts are detachably secured at a bottom portion to an associated bearing plate and extend upwardly through an associated opening in the second deck. The vertical support posts are supported laterally by the lateral support blocks. At least one flexible support line extends between and is coupled to a pair of the vertical support posts.

  • Patent number: 7520100
Abstract: A wall structure is provided and includes a series of spaced apart studs with each stud having a web and a pair of flanges. A series of support backings are connected between the spaced apart studs. Each support backing includes an elongated main section and a first tab formed on one end of the main section and extending at an angle with respect to the main section. A corner is formed between the main section and the first tab and one or more openings are formed in the corner. One or more tabs project from the other end of the main section. To secure the support backings within the wall structure, fasteners are utilized to secure the first tab of the support backings to the webs of the studs. Furthermore, the second tabs of the respective support backings project through the openings formed in the corner.

  • Patent number: 6389778
Abstract: A prefabricated modular wall panel brace is used in the construction of long wall for buildings. Each prefabricated modular panel brace is placed beside another framing component between a top plate and a bottom plate. Every other panel maybe inverted with respect to the adjacent panel so that the ends of a diagonal brace in each panel is adjacent to the diagonal brace in the adjacent panel. Each panel may have a movable/swiveling section to accommodate an angled portion of the wall. The modular wall panel brace may be used in single or multiple floor structures for either interior or exterior walls to provide shear or diaphragm bracing of the wall units of a building to provide bracing for wind or seismic loads.

  • Patent number: 4276730
Abstract: Wall structure modules comprising a plurality of narrow, substantially ceiling high panels of integral sandwich construction with a thickness of insulation molded between two thicknesses of light weight concrete. There are tongue and groove configurations along opposite sides of the panels conditioning them to be nested together. A full-height steel stud is encased in each exterior panel and has a small bracket at the top exposed for attachment of a top plate, which fits over the panels of a complete wall section to unitize it. Interior panels are similar but the steel studs are full height in every other panel only. A transverse channel extends across the bottom of each panel on the inside, the lower flange of which is secured to the sub-floor. In the assembled wall these channels are aligned to serve as a conduit for plumbing and electrical wiring.
