  • Patent number: 8261503
Abstract: Provided is a fastener element for securing a curing blanket over the open upper end of a concrete form. The fastener element comprises a wire body including a central portion extending laterally for at least the distance of the width of the concrete form and a pair of attachment portions at opposite ends of the central portion. The attachment portions secure the fastener element to the outer walls of the concrete form.

  • Patent number: 8250822
Abstract: An improved system, method and product are disclosed for attaching non load-bearing metal wall studs to an overhead metal track in metal stud framing systems used for wall partitioning, in a manner that allows the overhead track to deflect under load without transferring the load to the studs and any attached wall partitions. The system features compression spring attachment products that frictionally engage overlapping flange portions of the track and studs so that any overhead load-induced movements of the track are not transferred from the track to the studs, or to any wall partitions attached to the studs.

  • Patent number: 6178711
Abstract: Generally large, typically eight feet by two inches by ten or sixteen or twenty-four inches, sidewalls for modular concrete forms are easily, efficiently and economically produced by cutting and by routing sheet-type polymeric material, preferably polyurethane or expanded polystyrene foam. Metal connecting members are produced in standard sizes by cutting and bending sheet steel and/or wire. The sidewalls and connecting members are transported to a building site tightly and compactly in pieces, and then flexibly assembled into precision wall forms at the site with good efficiency at any scale. The wall forms so assembled define a cavity into which reinforcing steel rod, electrical and/or communications conduit, plumbing, etc., may be entered. Concrete is poured into the cavity to create a wall having the form sidewalls as its permanent surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5894704
Abstract: A wall construction process including the steps of: providing a retaining mold for retaining a concrete slurry; installing reinforcing rods; at least partially filling the retaining mold with a concrete slurry mixture; allowing sufficient time for the concrete slurry mixture to solidify into a footing; constructing a reinforcing screen vertically oriented with respect to the footing; providing a plurality of spacers; placing the plurality of spacers to the reinforcing screen; providing a plurality of sheets of a foam insulating material having a first and second substantially planar surface; positioning one of the first and second surfaces against the spacers; providing a plurality of sheets of sheet-form lathe; positioning the plurality of sheets of sheet-form lathe against the remaining first and second surfaces of the foam insulation that are not against the spacers, providing a plurality of fasteners; fastening the plurality of sheets of sheet-form lathe, the plurality of sheets of foam insulation materia

  • Patent number: 5611183
Abstract: A wall form structure comprises modular components, wherein individual components are fitted together to construct residential or commercial wall structures. The wall form structure has prefabricated inner and outer walls, a connecting member which is positioned between the walls, and column members to hold the walls against the connecting member. The column member is equipped with perpendicular connectors which are inserted into openings of the prefabricated walls. The connectors are sufficiently longer than the thickness of the wall and engage onto the connecting member. The connecting member includes a mesh area to restrict the flow of concrete poured into cavities defined by two walls and a plurality of connecting members. Concrete may be poured into all or selective cavities depending on the use and purpose of the wall structure. The prefabricated wall may comprise a base wall, a mesh, a screen, a brace, an insulation, or any combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 5522187
Abstract: The roof tiles (1) of a sloping roof rest via a ridge on tile laths (2) and overlap one another in two directions. They are fixed with tile hooks (4) and each tile hook (4) comprises a first shaft section (7), which at the free end has a hook-shaped bend (8) which grips around a closing groove (6) on a side edge of a first tile, a second shaft section (9), which at the free end has a device (10) by which the tile hook is fixed to a tile lath (2), and a shoulder (11), which is located between the two shaft sections (7 and 9) and engages on the rear surface of a second tile partially located under the first tile. The two shaft sections (7 and 9) of the tile hooks are essentially perpendicular to the shoulder (11).

  • Patent number: 4660342
Abstract: An anchor for use in association with a mortarless block wall system for attaching facing to the outside of a wall. The wall includes a series of blocks placed in linear courses or rows with each block containing a pair of parallel sidewalls that are connected by lateral walls and at least one upwardly disposed projection for interlocking one block to another. At least one of the sidewalls has a laterally disposed groove formed therein which passes downwardly through the top surface of the block and is located adjacent to an end face on one of the lateral connecting walls. A wire anchor is seated within the groove which has an inwardly extended locking member that engages the connecting wall of the block. The anchor further contains a forwardly extended closure key that is adapted to pass over the outside face of the block. The closure key and locking member coact, in assembly, to hold the anchor securely to the block.
